"I'm hungry. Maybe I should make myself something. Or I could just go to Portillo's. Yep- I'll do that. I'll go to Portillo's."

Here are 10 signs you have this exact thought process on a regular basis:

1. You get offended when people don’t know what Portillo's is.

Have you been living under a rock??

2. When away from home you have MAJOR withdraws.

Not having Portillo's within a 5 minute drive while away from home is not only sad...it's intolerable.

3. After a long time away from home you stop by Portillo's to grab a hotdog even before seeing your family.

While on the drive back home from college you are super excited to see your family and hometown friends, you can't pass up the Portillo's right off the highway exit before heading home.

4. You have nicknames for it such “Ports” or “Tillos”.

People would guess we are dating at this point...

5. You rave about it to all your friends who aren’t lucky enough to have a Portillo's near their hometown.

Trust me, you will not find any food better.

6. Chocolate. Cake. Shake.

Yep, enough said.

7. Chopped salad was always the go-to for grad party season.

Grad party season was always a time to look forward to because you always knew you would find your true love there...chopped salad.

8. You get quality food in a quick amount of time...what can beat that??

Getting the best food in the game within 5 minutes of ordering? Can't top that.

9. Your biggest fear is someone asking you if you they can have a bite of your cheese fries.

Portillo's cheese fries are too good to share..and you know that "one bite" will turn to half the box real quick.

10. Portillo's never fails to brighten your mood.

Thank you for never letting me down. <3

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.
