Listen, I know a lot of you may vote for Trump over Hillary (Don't worry, I'm definitely not pro her at all, for reasons I'll tackle in another post) but please, Please, PLEASE rethink that. I know you don't want Hillary way more than you don't want Trump, but he's an awful person, and when we talk to our children, grandchildren, and great grand children about who we are as citizens, and as humans, and as honorable people, we don't want to point to someone who is incredibly racist, has an awful fiscal plan, and has the maturity and humility of a 12-year old school bully as the person we chose to lead this country for four years.

This isn't just some position in the local government, as the world is using this as an EQ (Emotional Quotient), IQ, and Morality test for the United States. On a quick tangent, if you need to choose a third party candidate, here are some:

For liberals: Bernie Sanders, the Green Party, the Democratic Socialist Party

For conservatives: Check out the more moderate republicans. Seriously, you can still write them in.

For moderate conservatives: You have loads of other people, such as many Libertarians (some are much more moderate) and republicans that can still be named even if they aren’t listed on the ticket.

For moderate liberals: Sorry, Hillary is the traditional democrat in every way. Perhaps try to get Biden to run?

Now that we’re past the alternative parties and candidates, here are some reasons for not wanting Trump (Sources at the bottom):

1. He doesn't understand how foreign trade works.

In fact, in one debate he said that he was against the TPP because it would benefit China and India, even though they are not included in it, and the TPP was originally intended to counteract their economic sway. (Dehaas)

This shows that he’s not even bothered to look at facts before a large public speaking. If he’s that arrogant and callous now (as he has been in the past) what makes you think he’s going to change anytime soon.

2. He’s clearly not worried about facts.

As The Moderate Voice puts it, “Trump not only lies, but doubles down on those lies. Examples include saying that Muslims in New Jersey cheered 9/11, that vaccines cause autism (which is obviously not true, as every doctor has refuted this), that President Obama wasn’t born in the United States and that global warming is a hoax perpetrated by China to close U.S. factories.” (Jennewein)

We need a leader who is capable for thinking for themselves, but is also willing to look at reality. Seriously, this is an important position. Think of it like this. You know that one member who drinks too much at family get-togethers and starts yelling about crazy stuff that makes everyone uncomfortable? Take that person, and now hand them nuclear launch codes.

3. If you’re trying to escape Hillary and the Democrats she represents, he’s definitely the wrong way to go.

According to Politico, Mr. Trump has donated at least $100,000 to Hillary’s nonprofit, the Clinton Foundation. Furthermore, he’s had her as a wedding guest at the wedding to his most recent wife. Even further, he donated $20,000 to the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee, boosting Nancy Pelosi’s success.

Trump isn’t what anyone should want in a candidate, mainly because his loyalty is always changing. This is covered in the next point.

4. He shows a lack of political consistency and stability, one of the basic things that every politician needs.

According to The Moderate, again, “In 2004 he told CNN’s Wolf Blitzer, “I probably identify more as Democrat.” This from the Republican front-runner.” While everyone is entitled to changing ideas and developing new beliefs, there is little to say that could punctuate how radically Trump has had to change his views in order to manipulate the voter’s perception of him.

5. He lacks the necessary poise and proper behaviour of a candidate.

“An ‘extremely credible source’ has called my office and told me that Barack Obama’s birth certificate is a fraud"

“You know, it really doesn’t matter what the media write as long as you’ve got a young, and beautiful, piece of ass.”

“I’ve said if Ivanka weren’t my daughter, perhaps I’d be dating her.”

“It’s freezing and snowing in New York – we need global warming!”

"The point is, you can never be too greedy." (Marie Claire)

I could go on and on, the point is that if Trump becomes president, he’ll have to eloquently and publicly speak on complex and nuanced issues ranging from the economy, economic disasters, shootings, terrorist attacks, and so much more. Is this really the kind of person we want speaking about important issues? Is this the language that we want to have represent the United States of America? Sure, some of you may have disliked President Obama, but at least he had charm, he had grace, and he had great diplomacy, so did Reagan, Roosevelt, Lincoln, and on and on. He used his voice to earn respect and trust for the United States after the embarrassment that was Former President Bush’s terms. This election could impact which countries renew treaties with us, create economic ties with us, and give us military support.

Listen, I know some of those who read this feel disenfranchised with the establishment. You may feel cheated, you may feel unheard, you may even feel manipulated. You have every right. However, voting for someone completely unqualified just because they’re the Republican nominee, or they’re not “afraid to speak their mind”, or they aren’t an insider is not justified in any way. By casting your ballot for Trump, you, dear reader, are wasting your chance to diversify the playing field and create a climate that is more positive for you. Be selfish, while thinking about everyone else.

The world is watching. Are you ready to create the next embarrassment, or are you ready to vote with your head intact?

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

The Importance Of Being A Good Person

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
