Santuarios Para Estudiantes Indocumentados

Varias escuelas y ciudades a través del país han tomado la iniciativa de mantenerse santuarios para gente y estudiantes indocumentados, bajo las promesas del presidente electo de deportar millones.

El distrito escolar de Portland se ha unido en este movimiento y también se ha declarado santuario para estudiantes indocumentados, pasando una resolución que promete proteger la privacidad de los estudiantes indocumentados.

La resolución require algunas de las siguientes cosas:

“Cualquier oficial de ICE que quiera entrar a una escuela o a propiedad del distrito escolar de Portland necesita primero necesita notificar al superintendente y el consejo general, para que haya suficiente tiempo para proveer seguridad emocional y física de los estudiantes y los empleados.” Y también, “El distrito Escolar De Portland no debe preguntar sobre el estado migratorio de estudiantes o de los familiares de los estudiantes…”

Muchos estudiantes están peticionando que sus escuelas también sean santuarios para estudiantes indocumentados. Es la iniciativa de estos estudiantes y la comunidad que hacen nuestra ciudad un mejor lugar para todos.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday.
