Summer is almost upon us. It's time for the beach, drinks on the sand, fewer clothes and fewer worries. Well, not for everyone.
In our generation of social media attacks, and stuck up ways of thinking, it appears that unless you have a perfect hourglass shape, with no stretch marks or cellulite, you shouldn't dare show your body and be comfortable in 80-90 degree weather. You don't deserve to love yourself and you should just cover up because you don't go the gym every day and oh my god, people shouldn't be exposed to women of ALL body types. How dare you!
I'm here to tell all of my ladies to wear whatever the hell you want and be as comfy and cute as you can be this summer. I struggled and still struggle with showing my body in the heat. I wore long pants whenever I stepped outside, and I never wore sandals because I was self-conscious about my feet.
Apparently, with these social media girls today, you dare not step outside if your toes don't have paint on them. And don't even think about FRENCH TIPS! (Insert scary music) I'm slowly getting over that, and if I don't have the money to get my toes done, I'm not going to wear shoes to make you feel better. Get out of here.
I feel kind of bad for people that are so concerned about what other people's feet look like, or their bodies for that matter. Why are you so upset with other people trying to enjoy their summer, just like you? I'm sorry, I, as a woman who does not have the standard "bikini body" that I see all over Instagram and magazines, will not be uncomfortable because I weigh a little extra. That's so ridiculous.
I really don't care what anyone thinks. I'm taking away all of their power. Because when I do that, what can they do? Absolutely nothing. Stay mad, while I and my thick ladies enjoy ourselves. Stress causes wrinkles btw.
Girls, read on for everything you CAN do this summer and WILL do.
1. Wear whatever you want to the beach.
Whether you still feel more comfortable in a one piece, or you want to flaunt your beautiful self in a bikini, girl do it! Confidence makes people forget your shape, and people worth being around won't care to begin with. Ditch that shirt boo, how are you going to tan?
2. Wear dresses.
Dresses are so easy and so cute! You can be comfortable AND stylish. Personally, I like how my curves make me look in the dresses I feel okay with wearing. And I always get compliments! Plus, when it comes to my preference for women, I like a little extra. And in a beautiful dress? Watch me fall in love.
3. Wear open-toed shoes.
Whether you feel comfortable getting your toes done, or not, release the piggies! It gets too hot for that. And I don't exactly remember Ariel, a DISNEY PRINCESS, having her toes painted when she finally got legs. She was just happy to have legs and feet!
She had the right priorities. To all of you judgmental people, think of Ariel. Some people, disregarding the pedicure issue, aren't comfortable showing their feet. I was one of those for a long time, and still am. Recently, I began to do it. And rarely, my toes are done. I couldn't care less. Foot odor from having my feet shoved into sweaty socks and shoes aren't for me, sorry. (Not saying everyone has foot odor, but you get what I mean).
4. Ditch the sleeves!
Look at this girl in this gif. I want you to be like her this summer. She's gorgeous, and so are you. Confidence is key. It is the most important thing to do when you're scared to show yourself. Even if you aren't confident yet, fake it! We won't be able to tell!
5. Step out of your comfort zone.
You are hot if you believe you are. You are beautiful and sexy when you flaunt yourself. And to anyone who has nasty things to say? Feel sorry for them. No one who is truly happy with themselves will be so miserable as to judge someone living their best life. Pray that they find your happiness, and enjoy the summer. Make 2018 the year to remember.
