The election is over, the results are in. Donald Trump is going to be the next POTUS. There are many people who are celebrating today, but there are also so many people in mourning. And on behalf of those people, if anyone who voted for Trump opens this and actually reads it, I just need to ask: what made you do it? I'm so curious. Why? What was it that turned you to vote for "the Donald?" Please, just give me a reason.

Give me a reason that has nothing to do with Hillary. I'm through with hearing that your vote for Trump was a vote against Hillary. That's not how this works. I'm through hearing that Trump is just the lesser of two evils. Because what does that really mean? Give me a reason for your vote in which the name Hillary Clinton does not escape your lips.

Give me a reason Donald Trump earned your vote that excuses the fact that he is on trial for a child rape case next month. Tell me why having double digit accusers of sexual assault never deterred you from handing your vote over.

Give me a reason that your vote didn't show the younger generation that sexual assault is okay. That grabbing genitalia without permission was acceptable. How did your vote not enforce that sexual assault is not serious and won't stop you from being powerful.

Give me a reason that you voted for someone who chose a vice president who believes not only that electrotherapy is okay, but that it is going to cure homosexuality. Tell me why you could possibly vote for someone who chose a vice president that has so little compassion to humanity.

Give me a reason that will show me that the minorities are in no real danger. That the rise of the Ku Klux Klan has nothing to do with him. That the increased incidents and attacks towards Muslims and immigrants was not a result of his rhetoric. How are these people supposed to feel safe? Explain to me why I've become scared of the color of my own skin overnight.

Give me a reason that you voted that is more than the fact that you are a registered republican. Give me a reason that party loyalty is more important to the loyalty of your fellow Americans. To your immigrant, minority, and LGBTQ+ neighbors, friends, family. Explain to me, and please please make sure that you explain to them, why your vote didn't endanger them or their sense of safety.

I'm not condemning anyone who voted for him, I'm not calling for a recount because America has already spoken. I just need to know, why did you vote for Donald Trump? Because this is more than dislike, this is more than anger that their own candidate did not win, this is legitimate fear and I have to know what was going through your minds when you filled in that bubble next to his name. Justify why it's okay for people to be terrified to live in their own country. Please, give me a reason that it's okay for so many people to literally be scared of their president.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
