6 Places To De-Stress Around Fort Myers, FL

Whenever I get stressed out I become thankful that I live in Fort Myers, Florida. This state, in general, is the picture of relaxation. There are so many fun things to do here along with some things that can help you get your mind off of finals season!

1. Goat Yoga at Barnyard Yoga

I know some people who have gone here and you pay $20 to spend time with cute goats and get a little exercise too.

2. Oasis Nails and Spa

I love going here to get my nails done and they give a good discount for FGCU students if you show them your ID!

3. Little Rascals

My friends and I always go here whenever we need a break and just want to hold some cute puppies.

4. Sunset Yoga at North Lake

Yes more yoga, but its so relaxing! A lot of my friends do this on their free time and love it!

5. Bonita Beach

I go here at night someitmes to relax and you can see the stars so clearly!

6. Billy's Bike Rentals

Okay, so this one is actually in Sanibel but its so much fun! I mean who doesn't love a good bike ride to clear your mind? All you do is go there and rent a bike and they have over 27 miles of different paths you can choose to go on.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
