From the first time I clicked onto this mesmerizing website, I should have known that it would preoccupy all of my spare time. It is the one thing that seems to always be there with a vast new selection of things to look at. There are a wide range of things to explore, from do it yourself projects to recipes. There is no better way to spend time then finding a vast amount of pins to pin, that you will more than likely never look at again. There are times where the website will never lose your interest, and you will always find something that sparks a new interest.
Before my ventures on Pinterest, I was fond of Tumblr. But Pinterest was the updated version of Tumblr for me. It had everything that interested me. From looking at the super cute outfit on Tumblr, Pinterest tells me where I could buy that outfit, and how to style the pieces multiple ways. One keen thing that I appreciate about Pinterest is the fact that you can save the pins in an organized matter. Don't get me wrong — you can re-blog things on Tumblr, but good luck trying to find it again.
For me, I can get lost on Pinterest for hours at a time. I simply start out by looking up some random thing like new outfits ideas, and by the end I am pinning DIYs. At least for me when I start pinning projects and ideas, I rarely actually set out to do the project. Sometimes we try to complete the projects we see, and some succeed, while others fail. I am one of those who tends to fail, but it doesn't stop me from trying new projects.
There are sayings around Pinterest that combat the usefulness, and how easy these projects can ultimately be, or not. One of my favorites is Pinterest-Perfect, because everything on the website seems too perfect to be true. The crafts seem so easy that it would make are day to day life easier, or more fashionable. Although there are the sayings that Pinterest is perfect, there is also Pin-stressed. The idea that Pinterest makes us more stressed to make our homes, closet, and recipes perfect. Personally I tend to feel Pin-stressed, but it can't stop me from losing hours on end to the website.
This website is a great resource to help plant small ideas in your head to later accomplish. Whether that is through finding a new way to style objects in my closet, or by helping me in my current job as Resident Assistant, finding new ways to decorate a bulletin board or door decorations for my residents. This website comes rather in handy when you're lost for ideas, the never ending pins allows room for everyone to find something.
