Being the longest standing sorority chapter at IUPUI, Phi Mu has made an impact on the campus for many years. So what are these vibrant sisters all about? As a Phi Mu, I will fill you in on everything related to this chapter and show you what makes us special.

Values
So now you know the basics, but what about what matters to the Rho Alpha chapter? Academics, sisterhood, philanthropy, ritual, service, and socials are of utmost importance to the ladies of Phi Mu. Our mission, which can be found on our national website, states:
"Founded in 1852, Phi Mu is a women's organization which provides personal and academic development, service to others, commitment to excellence and lifelong friendship through a shared tradition. Phi Mu promotes vibrant living, encouraging members to achieve their personal best.
All Phi Mu members live their life by the creed, which outlines the ideals of our fraternity: Love, honor, and truth.
Giving Back
Philanthropic work is a top priority for the Rho Alpha chapter. We are willing to do anything for the sick children; we will stand outside in the cold "canning" and collecting donations, teeter-totter for 36 hours, make hundreds of pancakes to sell, and stay on our feet and dance for 12 hours. We want to help those kids more than anything else and have worked hard to be top fundraiser at Jagathon to make an impact in the life of kids at Riley Hospital for Children. In our spare time, we volunteer at various locations throughout Indianapolis. Our chapter truly lives by the quote, "You have not lived today until you have done something for someone who can never repay you."

As for the personality of the Rho Alpha chapter, each member brings special qualities to our sisterhood. I have asked sisters to share what word they think describes our chapter and the women we call sisters. Here are some of their responses:

- "Beautiful" - Claire S.

Each of our sisters make our chapter remarkable and help us continuously grow our organization. We work hard, have fun and contribute to our community each day. This fall, we will welcome more amazing women into our sisterhood and we can't wait to show them everything Phi Mu has to offer and how it can impact not only your college years but your whole life. Sisterhood is for more than for years...it is forever.
