So maybe life isn't what you expected it to be. Maybe you aren't where you pictured yourself being so many years ago. Growing up is tough, and living in this world doesn't make it any easier. But if there's one thing, one piece of advice I could offer you to hold on to through the midst of whatever it is you're going through it's this: You are not alone.
Life consists of decisions. Decisions that possibly determine the course of your future. There are some easy decisions such as what we eat for breakfast, and, there are more difficult ones like what to do for the rest of your life and who to spend it with. Decisions do get harder as you get older. The more we mature we get, the more responsibility we are given. And sometimes that responsibility does not always come with a set of instructions on how to actually handle situations. So when it comes to decisions, you are not always going to make the right one, but that is okay.
We. Are. Human.
As humans, we makes mistakes, which makes us imperfect. Perfection does not exist in any of us. We all have some type of perception of what is "perfect" which makes the definition of perfection also nonexistent. We need to stop trying to live up to this impossible standard that says we have to be perfect in every single way. And that says when we make mistakes, we are automatically turned into failures.
You are not a failure.
You tried, and that's all anyone could ever ask for. No matter what, if you try, you did not fail. The only failure comes from not actually trying. If you go through life being scared and not trying, then yes. You have failed. Why not try to accomplish something? If you do not succeed, then you are not losing anything you did not have in the first place.
Decision making sucks. Trust me, I know. But when making these decisions over the next couple of years, just do what you feel to be right in your heart. Doing the right thing will ALWAYS benefit you in the long run, no matter how painful it may be. Trust your gut, it will lead you to success in anything that you may do.
