If People Have An Effect On Others, What's Your Effect?

People impact other people's lives more than they think they do.

If People Have An Effect On Others, What's Your Effect?
Pexel

Think for a moment. Do you realize just how much you can affect another person's life? Do you realize what you say and do can either make or break someone? That you can bring laughter or tears? Love or hurt? The way people have such an impact on others has always been a concept that has intrigued me. Through my observations, I have seen different effects that people have on others. I've seen people have a motivational effect, happiness effect, sadness effect, inspirational effect, hurt effect, uplifting effect, hope effect, and many more. There are so many ways that people affect others.

I'm sure you can think of people in your own lives that have had an effect on you. There have been people that have supported you and helped ease your pains and there have been people that have back stabbed you and brought upon more pain. There have been people that have made you smile when you didn't feel like smiling and there have been people that have brought tears down your face. There have been people that have made you feel so incredibly loved and there have been people who have made you feel nothing but hate. There have been people who have just brightened up your life just by their very presence (aren't they the greatest?). And unfortunately, there may have been people who have made your life a living hell.

Isn't it interesting just how much people have an effect on us? Even more interesting is the fact that some people don't even realize their effect on others. Do you know what it's like for someone who was the receiver of a negative effect, such as hate, judgment, and hurt, but the person causing the effect doesn't feel anything at all? It probably is one of the worst feelings ever. Before I move on, I would like to say that if you are someone that is feeling that way, just think about this quote: "No one can make you feel inferior without your permission" -Eleanor Roosevelt

To those of you who are the ones making others feel that way, I can't tell you what to do. However, think about it. How would you feel if you were in their shoes? Would you want to feel that way?

From someone who has been blessed enough to experience more positive effects from others, I am truly thankful to the people who have brought happiness, love, smiles, and joy into my life. I hope to always have a positive effect on other people's lives. Now how about you? What's your effect?

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
