At the end of every year, I browse through my photo gallery and journal entries to reflect upon my accomplishments, experiences, and personal growth. As the year, 2015, comes to an end, one question I ask myself is: "What do I really want to do with my life?" I have had many people tell me, "It is okay you are still young, you have a lot of time." However, I do not know how much time I have left to live on this Earth. I no longer want to spend my time on people and opportunities that do not align with my passion and priorities. Therefore, for the upcoming year, I decided to invest in myself by buying a Passion Planner.
Planners are a useful tool for me because I value time management and organization. I have used various types of planners, but the Passion Planner stands out to me in the following ways:
1. Monthly and Weekly Page Design
Every month, there are boxes that enable me to write down the focus of the month, people I want to see, places I want to go, personal and work projects, and a list of things not to do. On each monthly page, there is also a section in which I am able to just brainstorm and write notes. The weekly page design provides a timetable for each day of the week and distinctly has a section for me to keep note of the good things that happened throughout the week.
2. Weekly Motivational Quotes
I like to read quotes because they express my emotions and thoughts that I am unable to formulate in my own words. In particular, when I feel defeated or overwhelmed, motivational quotes provides me with the encouragement to not give up and to continue to fan the flame of my passion.
3. Challenges for Self-Improvement
I am a firm believer that there is always room for self-improvement. Thankfully, the Passion Planner contains weekly challenges for self-improvement. For example, one challenge reads, "Learn how to say no. It is impossible to please everyone. Evaluate your priorities and eliminate tasks that are not impact full from your schedule." The weekly challenge encourages me to truly take initiative in improving myself.
4. Journal Reflections
At the end of every month, there are two pages dedicated for personal reflection. The monthly reflections provide me with the space to reflect upon the most memorable part of the on the month, biggest lessons I've learned, and recall what I am grateful for. One particular question that stands out to me is: "Are you happy with how you spent your time? If not, what steps can you take this next month to adjust them?"
5. Space for Creativity
There are multiple blank and grid pages at the end of the planner that can be used for whatever my heart desires. I can use them as a scrapbook, sketchbook, journal, and many more. The Passion Planner contains many blank sections meant to express creativity which is a great reminder that the possibilities in life are endless.
The Passion Planner is more than just your ordinary planner -- it is a guide that helps you spend your time wisely, reminds you to take the time to invest in yourself, and encourages you to do things that truly make you happy. As 2015 comes to an end, I look at my Passion Planner and I am filled with excitement for what is in store in 2016.
