College is built up to be the best four or so years of your life. While it is filled with great moments, there are some parts that are less than fun that no one wants to talk about. Here is a short list of those moments:
Laundry
The laundry room makes the first 5 minutes of the Hunger Games look tame. People will fight over a drier like it is a life or death situation and take clothes out of the washer even before it stops spinning. If you’re lucky your nice clean clothes will be thrown onto a moderately clean table in the laundry room and not just tossed into a pile on the floor.
Sharing A Room
It doesn’t matter if you’re roommate is your new best friend or your absolute sworn enemy, moving in with a new person always comes with some problems. Everyone likes their alone time and it might not always be possible when the small room that you are rending out is shared with another human.
Food
Whether your dining hall is rated number one in the country or could be confused with toxic waste, that still doesn’t hide the fact that there are few safe options when it comes to dining hall food. There will always be at least three foods that play on a vicious cycle between lunch and dinner for you every day.
Money
With housing and food paid for through student loans, you would think that there would not be many things that you would need money for. You probably won’t need a job on campus, right? The money from your summer job should be enough! Wrong. You won't know where your money is going, but soon enough it will all be gone.
Textbooks
Speaking of money, textbooks are what is going to take the majority of it. My senior year I could barely bring myself to spend 110 dollars on my prom dress, imagine how destructive it was for me to spend 160 dollars on an access code for a singular class that I used for maybe two classes. You’ll spend your life saving on textbooks that your professors swear you need to pass the class, but you won’t end up half of them.
