Rain dripped down my window;

The droplets were chasing each other as I placed my hand on the cold glass.

For some reason, the sound of raining hitting the roof frightened me, made me feel like someone was punishing me.

I curled up in my blanket.

No one's coming. I thought to myself.

Footsteps. Footsteps. Footsteps. Footsteps.


No. It's only rain. I reassured myself.

I closed my eyes.

"Wake up!!", the loud thunderous roar said to me.

A yelp escaped my lips.

Rain poured down harder, the sound was loud and powerful.

Footsteps. Footsteps. Footsteps. Footsteps.

I closed my eyes tighter and held the blanket close to my heart.

it's only rain, I thought to myself as my own raindrop fell from my eye.
