To my future mini-me,
I really hope you become real so you can read this. I hope the world is a different place than what it is now. I hope technology doesn't take over, cars stay close to the ground and boys become nicer.
Having a daughter is going to be a lot harder than having boys. Your grandma and grandpa had your two uncles and then me. So trust me when I say this - I know I will have trouble raising you.
Well, it's not like it's going to be hard, but your father and I will definitely have to protect you a lot more. Girls tend to be more hardheaded and emotional than boys.
I always think about what it would be like to have a daughter. What I would name you, if you would like the same things as me, will you have two older brothers like me growing up and will you be your father's little princess?
I already have the perfect name picked out. So what if it's only 2016 and I am only 20 years old? I can still plan this stuff out. I mean, everyone plans out their first child. The nursery, the name, how they will raise their child. It’s all on Pinterest!
Right now I am a junior in college and bowl for Missouri Baptist University. I still haven't met your father, but hopefully, I will soon. I still live with your grandparents, which has its ups and downs.
I don't understand completely why they keep me here, but I when I have you I know I will have the same feeling as them.
There are so many things that I want you to know and I hope to teach you.
I want you to know that you are loved. I love you with all my heart and will love you until the day I die. I know it seems weird because I haven't met you yet, but it's true. You will know how much you are loved.
You are capable of being whatever you want as long as you put your all into it. If you want to be a doctor, lawyer, teacher, whatever you want to be I will support you no matter what.
You don't need a man in order to know what love is. Many people will tell you differently. But the truth is, you need to love yourself because a man will admire your self-confidence. It's more important to know that you are who you are no matter what size you are, how you grew up or what others think about you. You are your own judge and you need to make sure you love to be you.
I'm sure you're rolling your eyes at this point, because that's at least something I would do at your age. I am also sure I have told you all of this and more. But just remember that you are loved and you do matter. Some girls forget that. I hope you become a reality for me, because I want to know what it feels like to have my own little girl. I love you so much!
Love,
Your mother
