One day you will be shattered, I am sure of this. But unfortunately, today is not that day. The white uneducated voters may have won this time around but I promise you there will be a woman that will be elected as President of the United States. She will not only shatter you, she will take the broken pieces of glass and make them into something that both women AND men will be proud of.
But until then, I have a few words for you glass ceiling. You have halted a woman's success for the last time.
I refuse to be another one of your victims. I refuse to let gender, race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, disability, etc. be what prevents me or anyone else from becoming whatever they want to be.
My daughter will aspire to be whatever she wants: a teacher, a businesswoman, a lawyer, a doctor, and yes, the President of the United States if she so chooses. She will never fear a man or anyone in power because she will know that the world is her's for the taking.
Glass ceiling, you have come in between people and their deserved successes for far too long. And I hope you know this: a glass that is cracked, can not hold together for long.
