An Open Letter To Anyone Voting For Donald Trump

It was all fun and games last year when Donald Trump announced he would run for President, but now it's time to shut it down.

OK, guys I think it's time we have a little talk.

A year ago it was funny, but now it's just starting to get ridiculous. Not only would Donald Trump be a bad president, but Trump is also a bad human.

I know, you'll probably leave this article and call me names or find me on social media and leave your hate-filled tweets. I don't care, this is something that has been going on for far too long, and it's time we as Americans had a nice little talk.

What makes you so excited that you are willing to vote for a guy with no political savvy, or basic human morals, for that matter? Look, I understand a difference in politics, or you not wanting the government run by Democrats. But I can't understand why you would support someone as hateful, sexist, racist and ignorant as Trump.

How can any self-respecting human support him so blindly? Ask yourself, are you a racist, sexist, hateful and ignorant person, as well? Trump supporters will argue that they like him because he tells the truth, because he's so rich he can say whatever he feels like with no apologies.

Newsflash, just because Trump is saying these things doesn't suddenly make them right.

It's never OK for someone, especially someone running for the highest office in the land, to generalize religious groups or race of people. The leadership Trump is showing is dangerous and, frankly, irresponsible. There is not one Trump rally you see where he isn't kicking someone out, for either not agreeing with him, or for simply being a Muslim.

At the end of the day, if you're not a bigoted, racist jerk, then voting for Trump simply because you don't like Democrats is wrong. If you are one of his supporters and you're just as racist and you don't care who knows it, I urge you to seriously reconsider the values you have been brought up with.

Remember in kindergarten when you had to "love your neighbor as yourself?" Why is it that as soon as we grow up, we decide that's not really a golden rule anymore, even though it's written in the Bible, which, according to Trump, is the best-selling book, and his book "The Art of the Deal" is a close second.

Not only is Trump a bigoted racist, he's also a sexist pig. This is the guy who said on national television that he would be dating his daughter if she wasn't related to him. This is the guy who said, and I quote, "Ariana Huffington is unattractive, both inside and out. I fully understand why her former husband left her for a man—he made a good decision."

This is the guy you're voting for.

Oh, here's another one, "If I were running 'The View', I'd fire Rosie O'Donnell. I mean, I'd look at her right in that fat, ugly face of hers, I'd say 'Rosie, you're fired.'"

If you believe that America will once again "be great" under the rule of a psychopath that is vain, vulgar and racist, I ask you to strongly reconsider. Furthermore, if you are an evangelical (or any faith for that matter) you will know that Trump is not the right candidate for the presidency.

In the Bible it says that people will know you are a follower of Christ by the fruit you bear (Matthew 7:16). Trump has gone on record to say the reason he was audited by the IRS is because he's a Christian. C'mon now, just by looking at his track record you can see he doesn't bear fruit.

The Bible speaks about the type of fruit one should bear and specifices, "The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control." (Galatians 5: 22-23). Which fruit of the Spirit has Trump demonstrated?

Trump is the guy who has openly and unapologetically talked with excessive pride of his many sexual "conquests," and who famously cheated on his first wife by sleeping with the woman that would become his second wife at one of his casinos in Atlantic City.

In 1997, Trump told Howard Stern that sleeping around was his "personal Vietnam,” where he dodged the bullets of sexually transmitted diseases. Nevertheless, he proudly proclaimed to be a "very brave soldier" because he would courageously face that risk without flinching.

I don't understand why so many evangelicals admire Trump. It is inexplicable on any rational basis. It is almost as if a fog of confusion has settled over the evangelical community so they simply do not see this man as he actually is.

If character and values on moral issues count, Trump is unqualified to serve as the leader of the free world. In fact, this man is unfit to serve in any leadership capacity whatsoever, let alone as the president of the most powerful nation in the world.

America can indeed once again "be great," but not under Donald Trump, not under his hateful speech and ideas. It's time we take America and its values back—all that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men doing nothing.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
