Dear Papa,
I know I do not tell you enough, but I love you. I love you more than I can even describe. Thank you for stepping up and becoming the dad my father never wanted to be. Thank you for loving me the same way you love your own daughters. Thank you for holding me tight when I cry. Thank you for being happy and laughing with me in the joyful times. You are my true super hero.
I enjoy spending time with you. I know you have a lot on your plate, but somehow you always find time for me even when I do not have time for you. You are my favorite fishing buddy. One fishing trip with you feels like 18 years of fishing that my dad never had time for. I normally think McDonald's is disgusting, but I know how much you like it. I know you like going for coffee in the morning and fries in the afternoon. As a little girl, growing up you were the only one who could convince my mom that it was okay to go there once in a while. Papa, you make McDonald's awesome.
Most of my memories of camping as a child were with you. I remember you had a big tent that would sleep all of my cousins and me. It is all because of you that I now have such love and appreciation for the outdoors. Thank you for pulling me on a tube behind the boat for countless hours at the lake on hot summer days.
You always take me on the best trips. You have taken me on many trips to Seattle and I appreciate that. Out of all the trips, my favorite is when you flew me down to Arizona over Christmas. I will never forget this experience. This was my first time on an airplane and also my first Christmas without snow. You got me out of my comfort zone and helped me find myself. I thank you for showing me the world.
Thank you for teaching me how to drive. Thank you for letting me drive your car and running it out of gas. Thank you for forgiving me when I backed up into your trailer. Thank you for telling me it was okay when I got my first speeding ticket. Thank you for being there through all of my car problems. Whether it be changing my oil or helping me figure out what to do when I blew my engine and for always offering to give me gas! Thank you for doing what my dad was too busy to do.
Many girls dream of meeting a man like their dad, but not me. I dream to find someone who will love me the same way you love grandma; even after 48 years of marriage. I dream of finding a man like you Papa. I can not wait until I find a man like you who is worthy of becoming my husband for life.
I do not know if I will ever be able to thank you enough. Nor do I know if I will ever be able to repay you for everything you have done for me. You truly deserve the world. Thank you for being you and stepping up to become the father my dad will never be anyways.
I Love You,
Jourdyn
