With summer closing in and the weather getting much nicer, it’s hard to see why anyone would have a grey cloud on their day. Like it or not, just because it’s almost summer and the skies are clearer doesn't mean all our problems magically disappear. At the end of the day, life isn’t perfect, and anyone who says otherwise is kidding themselves.
It may seem as though you are alone in your struggle, but that’s not entirely true. Despite no one really openly discussing their problems in public, they are there and they are real. This life we all live isn't easy. At times, it seems as though it is full of too many downs and not enough ups. Most of the time, life doesn't seem fair or just. I don’t think it is. But we don’t live for the bad moments—no, we live for the moments that take our breath away.
That doesn't mean we all need to take a trip to somewhere unique and amazing like France, for example (although that would be nice). I’m talking about the everyday things, that for some unexplained reason mean so much to us. It could be the smell of your morning coffee, the subtle breeze you feel from an open window, or just sharing a pure and uninterrupted laugh with friends. Those subtle, understated moments make the struggle worth it.
It’s moments like that where you have the chance to really step back and appreciate all that you have. Moments like that make it all worth it. Those instances where you aren’t thinking about your next step or how you're going to get through the day. You’re just living.
Sometimes it is really difficult to have these moments when you're going through a rough time. When you're going through a trying time, it may seem as though the entire world is out to get you, that everything you do you just get knocked down. If it makes you feel any better, everyone has times like these. We all know what it feels like to do your best, and it’s still not good enough.
It’s a really frustrating and annoying time in life. Even though this difficult time may seem never ending, be reassured that everything must end at one point or another. Everything will eventually figure itself out. It may take some time, a day, a month, a year. But know that with time everything sorts itself out.
Know that at the end of the day all you can control is yourself. You are the only person who truly knows yourself and what you need. Trust and stay true to who you are, and eventually you will find the right path.
There really isn't anything I can say to make the difficult times disappear, although I wish there was. The best advice I can give is to take note of the little things. The simple things in life that you take for granted. The small things that make your day just a little bit better. Those are the things that make it all worth it. Those are the things that get you through the bad.
