Dear Enthusiast Skeleton Clique Member,

By now, you have all realized the sheer talent of a little band called Twenty One Pilots. You have listened to and lived through the hauntingly beautiful lyrics of Tyler Joseph. You probably know every breakdown and drum kick of Josh Dun. I am sure you know the exact set list for their shows and find out whether or not Tyler climbed during "Car Radio" or came out into the crowd for "Holding Onto You". You probably follow more than one TØP update account on Twitter and the bands page on every social media platform.

Even if you do all of this, there are members of the clique that do not. They don’t follow Josh Dun on Snapchat or stalk Jenna Joseph’s pages in hopes of seeing something about Tyler. These clique members probably don’t know how old Josh and Tyler are or when their birthdays are. They probably don't know what color Josh Dun's hair is currently. This does not mean they like TØP less than you do.

When it comes down to it, it is all about the music. This band, this duo, has changed the music scene. When they were first formed in 2009 and became the duo that we all love in 2011, no one expected the impact they would have on the music scene today. Many people look down on how fast and how big TØP has become in the last two to three years. This amount of fame should not have been possible for these two, completely normal dudes from Columbus, Ohio. But guess what. It happened and still is happening. And you know why? It is because of the fans. It is because of the fourteen people that showed up to their first show and then were hooked and followed them around. It is because of the person who found them on SoundCloud and Spotify and couldn’t stop listening. It is because of the person who heard “Stressed Out”, “Ride”, or “Heathens” on the radio and immediately wanted more. It is because of all of you that Josh and Tyler are up for FIVE Grammys. The fans played a major role in the complete and absolute explosion of Twenty One Pilots into the music scene. In the words of Tyler at the end of every show, “We are Twenty One Pilots and so are you.”

So listen enthusiastic members of the Clique, respect the other members of the Clique. They all love the same music that you do. They all listen to the same lyrics that encourage everyone to stay alive and find a purpose in their lives. Don’t look down on someone because they wouldn’t win at a TØP trivia game. Rather, be so excited that you have found someone else that loves this amazing band. Listen to the band’s music together, discuss what the lyrics mean to you, and maybe even go see a show together.

Just to make it clear, there is nothing wrong with following Josh and Tyler on everything and keeping up to date on all things Twenty One Pilots. I do this. I have my notifications on for their tweets. TØP is my favorite band, by far. But, I have friends that love the band and their music, but they don’t do this. They only listen to their songs. And that is fine. I love that they love TØP and want to hear more of their stuff. I love that my obsession with and constant playing of their albums in my car has created more fans and Clique members. In the end, it will only help Josh and Tyler's music to reach more people and have an impact on their listeners lives. That is what is most important. Tyler’s lyrics have the potential to change people’s lives. If only we can get more people to listen to the words, maybe we can save each other.

“So try to love me and I’ll try to save you.”

Sincerely,

An equally enthusiastic member of the Skeleton Clique

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

The best superpower ever? Being invisible of course. Imagine just being able to go from seen to unseen on a dime. Who wouldn't want to have the opportunity to be invisible? Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
