To The People No Longer In My Life,
I genuinely hope you’re doing well. Sometimes I wonder where you are and how you’re doing—if you ever think of me like I think of you. I wonder if a smile stretches on your lips when you think of our fond memories, or perhaps you’ve forgotten. Either way, I still remember, and even though I’m in a good place, I often feel nostalgic about the past.
I think of all the good times, blurred between time and distance. Yet, no matter how long it has been, we can not change the past.
While I accept the fact we’ve gone separate ways, I will never regret having you in my life. You were a vital part of me, and in some shape or form, you’ve helped me become who I am today. So thank you.
Life happens, and we were not meant to know each other forever, but I was fortunate our paths intersected for the time they did. Instead of becoming saddened by the loss of your presence, I am thankful.
It seems like another lifetime when we were once so close, and now we’ve grown. It’s hard to believe sometimes. But I’ll see pictures of the past and smile with fondness, not bitterness. There’s no one to blame for the separation. It just happens.
With that said, I hope you won’t forget me. And in case you’re wondering, I’m doing well, too. I’m chasing after my dreams, and I hope you are too. If you ever see me, I hope you come and say hi.
Best,
Jillian
