The following is an open letter to naps.
Firstly, I want to sincerely apologize for the way I treated you as a child. You did nothing but boost my mood and give my parents a break, and I treated you like crap. I avoided you and acted as if I didn't need you. If only I would've known how much you mean to me now.
I also neglected you during my high school days. Most of the time, I would be at school from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. After school, work, extracurriculars and homework, I had zero time left for you. I'm really sorry for that, too. You deserve better and I'm so glad we rekindled our relationship in college.
Even though I neglected you for many years, your faith in my returning to you never wavered. If there has been one consistent thing in my life, it's you. You are there on the good days and the bad. You're there for me when I get home from school/work. You're there for me on rainy days. You're there for me after an all-nighter. You're there for me after an early morning. You're there for me after a big test. You're there for me when I'm sick or *cough cough* "sick". You're there for me on lazy Sunday afternoons. You're always there waiting for me. Thanks for that.
Thank you for helping me through my freshman year of college. Thank you for getting me through hell finals week. Thank you for revitalizing me after work. Thank you for curing my jet lag. Thank you for alleviating some of my stress. Thank you for pairing perfectly with Netflix. Thank you for boosting my immune system. Thank you for helping me transfer knowledge into my long-term memory or whatever. Thank you for keeping me (for the most part) sane.
They say you can sleep when you're dead.. Sure, you can. But you can also sleep when you're alive and in my opinion, that's a much better option. You have been a tremendous part of my college life and my overall survival. The world would be a gloomier and grumpier place without you. You truly are a lifesaver. So naps, thanks again for everything.
Love,
Your Faithful (and frequent) Companion
