Now that I am officially out of school, it gives me the chance to take time to reflect on my sophomore year of college. When I look back on this past year, there are many people that have helped me grow and have supported me when I needed them the most. Since school is over, I want to take this opportunity to acknowledge these wonderful people in my life.
To my mom,
Thank you for always being there when I need you. Thank you for texting me when I don't feel like paying attention in class. Thank you for your hugs when I come home for breaks. Thank you for calming me down when I called crying about finals week. I can always count on you to be there for me when I need you the most. You have sacrificed so much for my sister and I, and I can never thank you enough. You inspire me every day, and you always want me to do my best. I hope I can grow up to be just as strong and supportive as you.
To my college friends,
Thanks for the laughs, the late night conversations, the movies, the late nights studying in Gallagher for nine hours straight during finals. You all have made my college experience great so far. You have given me the opportunity to be myself, and you have accepted all my flaws. I love how much closer we have gotten over the last two years. I would not be the same person without all of you, and I can't wait for more adventures next year!
To my boyfriend,
Where do I even begin? You have been there for me through everything that life has thrown my way this past school year, and I can't thank you enough for that. You have supported me and given me strength when I didn't think I had it in me. I could go on and on forever about how wonderful you have been to me. Being in a long-distance relationship has been difficult, and it's about to get more challenging, but distance will never change how I feel about you and how much love I have for you. Thank you for everything you have done for me.
To my friends from home,
No matter how little we may talk during the school year, when we do catch up, it's like we never stopped talking. I value our friendships and how far they have come now that we have all gone our separate ways. Distance will never come between our friendship. I am thankful for all your prayers and Skype calls and visits this past year. Even though we will be separated even more, I know our friendships will never die.
I have been very fortunate to have many relationships in my life that have been important to me. These relationships have gotten me through a lot this past year and have inspired me to do great things. I would not be where I am without these special people in my life. I am grateful for all of my friends and family that have supported me this past school year, and I can't wait to see how these relationships will continue to grow as we all get older. So, here's to a great summer with great people and great opportunities.
