An Open Letter To My Favorite Band: Honor Society
Honor Society

Dear Michael, Andrew, and Alex,

Today marks almost three years since I last saw you three gentlemen perform live. I remember September 27th 2013 like it was yesterday. That show in New York City will forever be in my memory as one of the best concerts I have had the privilege of attending. Although I was upset you decided to break up as a band and go your separate ways, I understood the decision whole-heartedly. I’m not going to lie, it hurts seeing your favorite band break up and it’s incredibly hard to accept that they’ll no longer be performing live together or creating new music. But I also have to thank you for everything you did for me and all your fans.

Thank you for being some of the kindness and most genuine people I have ever met. You treated your fans with so much love and respect, and the appreciation didn’t go unnoticed. You went above and beyond to get to know and interact with everyone, something many bands seem to overlook. I can’t tell you how much all your fans appreciated the time and energy you took to sign countless autographs and take countless pictures; even when I’m sure you were on the brink of exhaustion. Even as a soon to be college graduate, I still have a small signed Honor Society poster in my apartment at school, a reminder of all the great Honor Society moments I had.

Thank you for all the wonderful and catchy music you wrote and performed. Your songs are the ones that I will never forget the lyrics too. Still to this day it upsets me that Honor Society didn’t make it bigger. Everyone deserved to hear and experience an Honor Society show. You should have been performing at the Grammy’s and VMA’s along side other great household names. From See U In The Dark to This Bed Is An Ocean to Serendipity, every one of your songs exuded pure and natural talent, rarely found anymore in the music industry. Everyone who had the honor of hearing your music could immediately tell all the hard work and passion put into it.

Thank you for the memories. Your music and everything that Honor Society stood for is what made the years of 2009-2013 one of the best times in my life, and a moment in my story I’m sure I’ll be telling my future kids about. From the first time I saw you all perform at Irving Plaza in February of 2009 to the last, all 19 shows I had the pleasure of attending are now a great memory. You always put on a ‘show’ and never disappointed, so for that I have to thank you.

I know you all say Honor Society meant so much to you and was a major part of your lives, which I in no way doubt, but please know and remember it was just as big apart of your fans lives and memories too. And just know if years from now Honor Society decides to be a band once again, your fans will be back too singing along.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
