October is a strange time. The weather changes, leaves begin to turn a different color, and finally, the NBA starts. Who could have predicted the injury to Gordon Hayward or the reigning champs losing opening night. Or the Suns firing the coach after losing by a combined 82 points in the first 3 games and Eric Bledose demanding a trade. To list the top 3 teams right now, you have to mention the obvious
1. Houston Rockets
James Harden and Chris Paul. The iconic duo that was supposed to take over the NBA and create 30 assist a night, just those two. But with Paul going down with an injury, the season seemed lost. What people forget is that this roster is very deep with the ability to stretch the floor and make the most of their shots. 6th man Eric Gordon continually exploits defenses with his ability to make the 3 point shot lethal.
2. Milwaukee Bucks
Could the Greek Freak get any better? Giannis is averaging the most points in the league while already showing that he is an MVP level canidate. Who else can hit the game winning shot from a steal and then block the other teams ball with no time left on the clock? While the team itself hasn't been great, Milwaukee continues to show that its power deserves recognition and in my opinion, Giannis deserves MVP.
3. Washington Wizards
John Wall is back to his old ways, throwing down dunks and providing suffocating defense for those he is guarding. His partner in crime, Bradley Beal has shown that he is worth the contract he was paid recently. The rest of the team isn't spectacular but they glue together and work as a good oiled machine.
