I have been following both for years, but just yesterday I realized that Mariah Carey, "The Elusive Chanteuse," and Lady Gaga have birthdays one right after the other – March 27th and March 28th, respectively. So, what does this all mean? Well, they’re both Aries babies and according to the always-reliable internet and time-tested science of Astrology, they should both share some similar traits.

Aries people are known to be courageous and determined. There’s no shortage of that with these two songbirds. Lady Gaga took the stage at the Oscars this January to sing "Til It Happens to You" – an anthem for rape survivors like herself. Gaga was joined by real-life survivors on stage in a tribute that left no one in the star-studded audience with dry eyes. Our other Aries, Mimi, is no stranger to being determined either. Mimi has been knocked down many times but refused to be knocked out. After a very public meltdown and poor commercial success of "Glitter" (2001 album and film), many had counted her out. However, by 2005, her "Emancipation of Mimi" became the best-selling album in the U.S. that year. Aries babies love a good come back.

All signs have weaknesses, though. Aries are known to be occasionally moody and short-tempered. Of course, there is that now-iconic moment when Mariah was asked for her thoughts on Jennifer Lopez . Her response? “I don’t know her." Luckily, time has passed and Mariah has probably reigned in that short-tempered side. Oh - actually, not really. On March 8, Carey was asked about JLo again, her response remained unchanged: “I still don’t know her”. Well, she tried. She’s an Aries. She gets a free pass--or two.

What about Mother Monster? Does the queen of love and kindness have a short-tempered side? The answer is: It’s not as bad as Mariah’s but Gaga can definitely throw some shade (especially on Twitter). Upon releasing "ARTPOP," Gaga and Adam Levine went at it on Twitter on what it means to be an artist. Levine started by saying “Ugh… recycling old art for a younger generation doesn’t make you an artist”. Gaga (and all of us) assumed this was directed at her. The Lady quickly fired off : “Uh oh guys the art police is here.” Not to be outdone, Adam suggested Gaga call “the grammar police”. Thankfully, this twitter shade war was put to rest with Gaga’s performance of "Do What You Want" on Adam’s show "The Voice." For your reference, Adam Levine is a Pisces (Aries cusp).

Mimi and Gaga are good ambassadors for the Aries sign. They are lively and passionate. They can also get down and dirty if needed. In their line of work, all of these traits are must-haves. Mariah just wrapped up a second-round of shows of her

#1s residency at Caesars Palace and is now embarking on a European tour (Aries dislike inactivity). Gaga just came off a successful year where she picked up a Grammy for her Jazz album with Tony Bennett and a Gold Globe for her role as The Countess in "American Horror Story" (Aries are versatile). And as if this was not enough, wedding bells might be ringing for both chanteuses this 2016. For both of these divas, the stars are aligning.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
