I am not a supporter of Donald Trump’s, and unlike as some people on social media are quick to point out, I am all for unity and to live in a country that is undivided. However, this is does not mean we should all take Trump’s actions lying down.

It’s okay to fear Trump’s presidency. It’s okay to be sad. It’s okay to be angry. It’s okay to want to peacefully protest. It's okay to be upset that Donald Trump is the 45th President of the United States of America after hearing the results.

Why you ask? Looking back, when Trump first announced his run for office, very few people believed it would ever amount to anything substantial. How could this reality TV star with no political or military experience, who has declared bankruptcy four times, actually become president? At first it seemed like just a stand up routine joke, which in turn became a Presidential Nominee race TV sitcom, and now it’s become a full length feature film nightmare.

How was he able to do this you ask? By the time America realized this sexist, racist, xenophobic man actually had a shot at the oval office, it was already too late. Trump’s fear mongering tactics had already infiltrated the minds of people who wanted some kind of political change. I believe that we, as the American people, should have taken more action and shed more light on what the reality of Trump as President would mean to America. Perhaps then, his supporters might not have been able to overlook Trump mocking a disabled reporter, Trump declaring a woman’s only job was to put dinner on the table, Trump encouraging bullying, Trump dividing American people based on faith, Trump making sexual assault seem acceptable, and who could forget Trump wanting to spend millions of dollars to build an unnecessary wall.

This doesn't mean we should add any additional hate or commit any acts of violence to the current situation, especially when these such instances are already prevalent with https://mobile.twitter.com/i/moments/796417517157830656?m=1. After witnessing these acts, please tell us how we should just stop whining, move on and accept it? We can’t and we shouldn’t. As Hillary Clinton pointed out in her concession speech “Never stop believing that fighting for what’s right IS worth it". Whether it’s donating to Planned Parenthood to keep affordable healthcare available for women in need, peacefully protesting issues close to your heart, volunteering your efforts to help clean up our environment, standing up for a fellow American who is being targeted, or simply promoting love for ALL types of humans, we can’t just sit back and pretend this is okay. #lovetrumpshate

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
