Oil Me Up

Are essential oils really what they are cracked up to be?

After hearing from my aunts how amazing essential oils are, I decided what could hurt? Let’s give it a shot! After being skeptical for a bit, I now use oils for everything! Here are a few recipes, ideas and tips that I have learned and also found through books, other blogs and of course Pinterest.

If you have asthma, upper respiratory tract infection, bronchitis, or anything along those lines, RC is your new best friend! It smells a bit like Vicks Vapor Rub but works a million times better. It’s much more concentration than a rub, obviously because it is just oil and it is definitely noticeable. I personally have put it on every night since January and have definitely noticed a difference.

CLARITY. With finals on the horizon, we need all the brain power we can get. Diffuse clarity in your diffuser while you’re studying or reviewing in your room. While you’re not in you room, grab your clarity roller ball and apply to your wrists and temples. Before your test, roll clarity again on your wrists and temples and you’re bound to remember the information.

Can’t fall asleep at night? Diffuse LAVENDER in your diffuser and wait for the magic to begin. Lavender is supposed to soothe and calm the soul. Personally, I love the smell of lavender before bed, so I usually diffuse lavender with an occasional drop of "Ylang Ylang 3" to help relieve any anxiety from the day!

My absolute favorite oil has got to be STRESS-AWAY. I put it on twice a day, once in the morning and once at night. I apply it to the bottoms of my feet, specifically the big toe, my wrists, my temples and the back of my neck where the spinal cord meets the skull.

Tips:

There is seriously an oil for everything.

The quickest way the oil will get into your body is the bottom of your feet, especially your big toe. Your wrists, temples and the back your neck is where the spinal cord meets the skull specifically your hair line are also good places to put the oil in order for it to get to your body as fast as possible.

If you are skeptical, keep an open mind and continue to try the oils. Eventually they will work!

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
