If "Parks and Recreation" Characters Were Ohio Schools

"Parks and Recreation" is one of the best comedy shows to date. Originally a political spin-off of " The Office" that incorporated real-life events in their episodes, this show ran for seven successful seasons. Have you ever wondered which characters would represent which Ohio schools? Here are some of the answers.

Tom Haverford is Miami University

Tom Haverford would fit right in at Miami University. He would definitely be a member of Greek life and he would hit on all of the sorority girls. His style and business savvy would take him far as a Miami student.

Andy Dwyer is the University of Cincinnati

Andy is as goofy as he is nice, which defines the students of UC. Although he comes off as dumb, he actually has a great memory, mentioning that he got a perfect score on his SAT test. UC students are full of life and are always down to have fun, just like Andy.

Ron Swanson is Ohio State University

Ron Swanson is a well known personality to all in the Parks and Rec Department. Since the Ohio State University is so good at everything, they probably don't even care about how other colleges are doing. Let's not mention how they changed their name to "The" Ohio State University. Ron also has a trademark mustache, which is similar to OSU's classic red and grey colors.

Leslie Knope is the University of Dayton

The University of Dayton is a small private school located right in Dayton. All of the people who I know that attend UD are very chipper and happy, just like Leslie. She would thrive as a political science major, attend trips to Columbus and Washington D.C., and swoon at possibly catching a glimpse of Joe Biden in the flesh.

Ben Wyatt is Kent State University

Ice Town = Can't read, can't write, Kent State.

In all seriousness, Kent State is a great school with students who achieve great things, but after one joke, people just can't seem to give them a chance, much like Ben Wyatt.

Jerry Gergich is the University of Toledo

Nobody really knows who they are (most of the Parks and Rec department didn't even know Jerry's real name). Their campus is also very old and beautiful, but slightly awkward because it's right next to downtown Toledo.

Chris Traeger is Bowling Green State University

As a small town, the people of Bowling Green are usually smiling and happy, similar to how Chris Traeger is 24/7. Secretly, BGSU students are always upset about something--the weather, their GPA's, how we didn't get a snow day when Toledo did--and we usually try to keep a happy face, despite how some of our sports teams perform.

April Ludgate is Youngstown State University

As beautiful as Youngstown's campus is, the city around it is quite interesting. The students themselves, like April, can be sarcastic, but they also have a sweet side to them. Also, their mascot is a penguin, which April would be all about.

Ann Perkins is Ohio University

Ann is a very sweet girl, similar to the people who go to Ohio University. She also would thrive in the school's nursing program, which is very well-known. Everyone knows that OU is mainly a party school and Ann can definitely get her party on.

Donna Meagle is Baldwin Wallace University

Baldwin Wallace is a small school in Berea, OH, and some people probably haven't even heard of the school. However, like Donna, the students at BWU are very successful (according to their website, in the last 15 years, BWU graduates have appeared in 40 Broadway productions). They are very well-known for their music program, which Donna would definitely appreciate.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
