The Offical Summer 2015 Bucket List

1. Road trip with your best friends. Get in the car and just keep going.

2. See a your favorite musician in concert and splurge on the ticket.

3. Spend a whole day tanning and relaxing. Appreciate this while you can.

4. Have a 24- hour movie marathon. Of course, eat endless popcorn and wear your favorite pjs.

5. Read all the "50 Shades" books (again) and then watch the movie (again).

6. Go on a hike. Explore. Find new places that are so close to your home.

7. Make all the delicious items you have pinned on Pinterest. But don't worry, they probably won't turn out the same.

8. Exercise. Summer is the perfect time to get in shape. Take advantage of this.

9. Limit your alcohol intake. Your body will thank you!

10. Go camping -- in your own backyard. Maybe even incorporate a bonfire.

11. Wake up early and watch the sunrise.

12. Flock to the beach and watch a sunset.

13. Kiss the boy you've always had your eye on. You have nothing to lose!

14. Put your phone away for a whole day. I promise, you will survive.

15. Play with puppies!

16. Work your butt off, save a lot of money, and then go shopping.

17. Spend a whole day with Mom and treat her to anything she wants! She deserves it.

18. Try a new restaurant (or two). Instagram a picture of whatever you order.

19. Call your loved ones, often.

20. Try a new sport.

21. Rearrange your room.

22. Have a water balloon fight.

23. Watch all the Disney Channel Original Movies.

24. Craft. And then craft some more.

25. Have a photo shoot.

26. Try something different with your hair.

27. Keep a journal. Every day, write something positive that happened.

28. Keep a memory jar. Read all of them on the last day of summer.

29. Teach your younger sister something you wish you had known when you were their age.

30. Do something good for the community.

And, lastly...

31. Don't hold back. Make mistakes and learn from them. Learning doesn't stop just because college is out of session. Use every opportunity as a chance to grow as an individual.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.
