Why I’ve Had enough of OBJ’s Outbursts

Unless you live under a rock you’ve probably head of Odell Beckham Jr, aka OBJ. Arguably one of the best wide receivers to ever play the game, ranking 3rd in the league for receptions and total yards in just his 3rd season. Now I may be a little biased since I’ve been a Giants fan ever since I can remember, but seriously how could you argue that he’s not the GOAT?

However, as a fan of football and the Giants franchise I have a problem with OBJ. His outbursts, especially recently, are inexcusable. The man is 24 years old, and it is time for him to grow the ef up. From crying like a baby about Josh Norman to punching a hole in the wall at Lambeau Field OBJ has embarrassed himself, his team, and the NFL. Yet Beckham doesn’t seem the least bit embarrassed or apologetic for his actions. His nonchalant attitude is what has my panties in a knot. Does he not understand that there are 8-year-old boys looking up to him? Can he not comprehend that his actions not only reflect poorly on him, but on his team and all NFL players?

It’s not fair that aspiring collegiate and professional athletes watch OBJ and believe his behavior is acceptable. It’s not fair to his teammates that he allows his attitude to interefere with his game play. It’s not fair to the rest of the NFL that his reputation is reflecting poorly on all players.

As one of the most popular players, Beckham’s every move is scrutinized- and it’s not like he doesn’t know that. He is fully aware, (and probably enjoys), that his name is constantly being brought up in the media. Yet he continues to act like a child. His actions give the impression that unruly behavior is acceptable. Which, HELLO?, is totally NOT.

Before the Giants’ playoff game at Lambeau field OBJ should’ve been mentally preparing, instead he decided to jet off to Miami for some “much needed R&R”.

His performance during his first ever playoff game was less than stellar, to put it nicely. Every athlete is going to have a bad day- his performance is not what I have a problem with. It’s his actions before and after the game that upset me. After the game, Odell knew he choked. Instead of accepting the fact that his trip did in fact hinder his ability to focus on the game, he allowed his anger to take over. The result: a hole in the wall of Lambeau stadium.

Like SERIOUSLY? The only people who punch a wall out of anger are 5 year olds, and even then it’s not acceptable! Also, does he not see how disrespectful that is to the Giants and the Packers? Just because you had a poor performance does not mean you get to have a childish outburst.

Beckham’s outbursts make me cringe and embarrassed to be a Giants fan. As a life long fan it upsets me that one player’s reputation is causing major problems for the entire team and league. It’s time for Beckham to grow up, face the criticism, accept the heat, and apologize for his actions.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
