It's a new semester! For me, that means new city adventures, most of them involving eating. Here are some of the places I'm looking to eat at in the next few months.
Friend of a Farmer
Friend of a Farmer is the place to go when you're looking for brunch in Brooklyn. As one of the earliest supporters of the farm-to-table movement, their food is seasonal, fresh and local. What more could you ask for?
Union Fare
Also known for their brunch (I like breakfast food, okay?), Union Fare has some really unique and delicious treats on their menu. They also have all the classics, but who could say no to carrot cake waffles or a Fruity Pebble croissant?
Katz's Delicatessen
As one of the few Jewish delis left in the city, Katz's has been a local tradition since 1888. Their corned beef and pastrami put them on the map. In fact, they've even been in movies!
by CHLOE
Committed to showing people how they can maintain a sustainable vegan lifestyle, by CHLOE offers a menu of wholesome, plant-based foods that are still delicious. Their menu features local ingredients in their most natural form. They have a bakery as well, so you'll never feel like you're missing out.
Morandi
According to their website, Morandi is a rustic Italian trattoria that simultaneously combines homey and trendy vibes. Best known for their brunch menu, there is something for every taste.
'witchcraft
Featured on the Cooking Channel's Unique Sweets , 'witchcraft is known for its sandwiches and its dessert counter. According to the show, they've perfected the art of the sandwich and have managed to carry that knowledge into their cookies as well.
home frite
Without a doubt, french fries are my favorite food. Good fries aren't too hard to find, so it's the sauce that really makes home frite's special. The fries are made from Russet potatoes and are carefully prepared in four steps. All sauces are made in-house, from scratch using seasonal ingredients as well.
Clinton St. Baking Company
Famed for their breakfast, most notably their pancakes (voted best in the city), Clinton St. Baking Company has a comfort food menu bound to make anyone happy. They've grown from a wholesale baking company with barely a storefront to a name many know and love. February is a great time to go, as it's pancake month!
Hopefully, you're hungry after all this. I know I've got a lot of eating ahead of me. Stay tuned next week for dessert -- after all, you can't skip dessert.
