Truly, you could probably find a cupcake on every corner if you really tried, but don't you want some quality cupcakes? Check out some of the places down below for some amazing sweet treats, out of the ordinary flavors, and a belly full of cake and icing!

1. Magnolia Bakery

Known worldwide for their cupcakes, if you’re in NYC and looking for a sweet treat then Magnolia is always a safe bet. Lines are known to wrap around the block for this bake shop it’s so good! If cupcakes aren’t really your thing, their banana pudding is known to be pretty delicious, too.

2. By CHLOE

Looking for an amazing vegan bakery? Look no further than by CHLOE, located in the Flatiron district. Not only does this place sell some amazing vegan cupcakes but they also have other vegan eats and fresh-pressed juices.


3. Billy's Cupcakes

What many consider to be NYC’s best cupcakes can be found at Billy’s bakery. If the smell of delicious golden cake and buttercream frosting doesn’t draw you in the quaint decor surely will. Be sure to try their Yellow Daisy Cupcake to be transported right back to your childhood.


4. Baked

If you’re in Brooklyn make sure to check out Baked. They may be known for their other sweet treats but they also serve up some delightful cupcakes. Their flavors rotate daily but a fan favorite is the refreshing lemon drop cupcake.

5. Prohibition Bakery

This bakery serves up exactly what it sounds like. Yup, cupcakes flavored with booze. Each cupcake is named for a cocktail, adding a little fun. Try the pretzels and beer cupcake or the dark and stormy.

Started by one of the original founders of Magnolia Bakery, you know this place has got to be good. Located conveniently in Midtown you’ll definitely want to stop in here for a sugar rush.

7. Two Little Red Hens

If you’re in the Upper East Side you simply must go to Two Little Red Hens and try something, or everything! Famous for their decadent Brooklyn blackout cupcake, which is perfect for any serious chocolate lover.

8. Georgetown Cupcakes

If you’ve ever watched TLC you’ve probably seen DC Cupcakes and heard about Georgetown Cupcakes. If you haven’t, then simply stop by their SoHo location and see what has made them so famous.

9. Butter Lane Bakery

This place only sells cupcakes, so you know they must be good. They have a variety of amazing flavors like banana cake and coconut icing that will definitely make you understand why this place is the best.

10. Terri

With a few locations spread throughout the city, Terri will definitely be your go to place for vegan, gluten-free, and kosher bites. Not only do they have some awesome vegan and gluten-free cupcakes, but they have other amazing sweets like apple cider donuts and chocolate chip cookies.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.
