I just wanted to start by saying thank you. I am about to say thank - you 23 more times but it seems only fair to start out by saying that. I could not have asked for better support when I needed it. I am forever grateful for everything you did for me all those months ago, specifically:
Thank you for dropping everything and coming to be with me as soon as I called you.
Thank you for driving 30 minutes just to bring me pizza.
Thank you for staying with me for hours even though we had a huge history exam the next day.
Thank you for not asking questions because you know that would have hurt even more.
Thank you for walking me to all my classes the next day and always making sure I was fine.
Thank you for skipping class to hang out with me and give me the brownies your mom made for me. Tell your mom I love her.
Thank you for making me smile even when all I wanted to do was cry.
Thank you for reminding me that this was not my fault.
Thank you for reminding me it was not his fault either.
Thank you for letting me burst into tears in the middle of a conversation in your basement at 1:00 AM.
Thank you for supporting all my decisions.
Thank you for convincing me not to drive around screaming Taylor Swift songs even though I really, really wanted to.
Thank you for leaving parties early with me just because I needed to talk (and drink milkshakes).
Thank you for letting me get mad at you. A lot.
Thank you for letting me cry in your room after your own graduation party.
Thank you for telling me that I could do my job of loving others even if I didn't love myself.
Thank you for understanding when I just wanted to be alone.
Thank you for letting me cry (for the last time) in you car a month later.Thank you for telling me to "trust that there's a better yes down the road."
Thank you for all the late night talks.
Thank you for letting me get frustrated and angry.
Thank you for driving around with me late at night just so I could talk to you in private.
Thank you for supporting me until I could stand on my own.
I'm sorry for everything I put you through and for being annoying and grumpy for a whole month but that is what heartbreak does to you. I can not imagine what I would have done without you guys. You spent so much time focused on making sure I was okay and I can never describe how much that meant to me.
If I ever have a daughter, I hope she is blessed with friends as unbelievably caring and genuine as you guys.
