I promise this is not a typical article about how great fall is - the pumpkin spiced lattes, the fall sweaters, the haunted hayrides - we already know this and have read about it more than enough, so here are ideas that will make this October different than the past.
Taste of Georgetown
October 3, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
If you like food, grab your closest friends and go on over to D.C. to indulge in 35 delicious local restaurants. Besides endless food, this festival includes live jazz, beer and wine. It is also a family-friendly festival with hula hooping and face painting. Each tasting is $5 for food and $4 for wine or beer.
Oktoberfest at the Kentlands
October 11, from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m.
Self explanatory - wagon rides, pumpkin painting, beer garden and live performances. I think this is the perfect way to start the month of October.
Scream City, Washington, D.C.
Friday and Saturdays, in October
Rather than your average haunted hayride, head over to this Hollywood-level, absolutely frightening attraction. It is $45 per ticket, but it's completely worth the money. Oh, and it's date-worthy because you can hold on to your date the whole time. Check out their creepy website and purchase a ticket here:

The Fridge
Washington, D.C.
The Fridge is an Instagram lover's dream. It's a D.C. art gallery in Capitol Hill with a trail of street art leading to the store. It starts by the Oyster shop on 8th St SE. Fall weather is the perfect opportunity to come because who doesn't love beautiful weather and cute outfits to wear as you follow this colorful path?
The Chainsmokers
October 31, at Echostage
What better way to spend Halloween night then at Echostage in D.C. dancing to the Chainsmokers in your costume? The concert starts at 9 p.m., and tickets are going fast so get yours soon!
