I'm NOT With Hillary Clinton

And I'm not afraid to admit it.

I'm NOT With Hillary Clinton

"So, who are you voting for in November?"

When I am asked this question, I always take a brief pause, because in my head I am trying to figure out how I am going to explain my answer. Because, when I say "Well, I'm not voting for Hillary Clinton," many times I get belittled with comments such as: "You're not voting for Trump, are you?" or "You're a woman, how can you not vote for her?" And when all of this happens, I'm fighting to try and get my words across to explain the many reasons of why I will not vote for Mrs. Clinton, but I never seem to fully accomplish this.

Like many millions of Americans who are voting for Mrs. Clinton, there are the many millions of Americans who won't be. I am one of them, and I have my reasons, legitimate reasons why I'm NOT With Her. I have been following the election season since its very beginning over a year ago. Being a Republican, I had 17 candidates to choose from. (I can promise you that Donald Trump was not my first pick. I actually was in favor of Dr. Ben Carson.)

Understanding and being an active part of American politics runs through my blood; my father and grandparents taught me the importance of being involved with politics from a young age, and I consider myself an informed, but younger voter, and the Republican and Democratic nominees for president need the votes of younger people. I know how important my vote is, and I am not just going to give my vote to anyone.

I am a proud American, and as I said before, I am a Republican woman, who was taught good conservative Christian values ... But I am also a woman living in the 21st century, and things change; people and morals change throughout the years, but I stand firm to what my family taught me, that I must be loyal to who I am, and fight through the challenges of being a woman in today's era. That does not mean that I am automatically giving my vote to Mrs. Clinton because we are the same gender. Nor will I give her my vote because she is making history by being the first woman to be nominated for president through a major party. As a woman, I am ashamed that Mrs. Clinton will be the first woman to become the first woman to have this honor, as she, in my opinion, has no care in upholding the American values, and the American Constitution, that I love so much and stand for: loyalty, justice, honesty, and the list goes on of the values and morals that Mrs. Clinton has completely disregarded in her campaign and, quite frankly, in her career as a politician.

Mrs. Clinton apparently wants to do so much for women and the LGBT communities within the United States. And yet, she has taken monetary aid/donations for both her presidential campaign, and for the Clinton Foundation, from countries that have laws that suppress the rights of the LGBT community and women. According to the Washington Post, Hillary Clinton was getting much of this aid for the Clinton Foundation during her time as Secretary of State. Such nations include Saudi Arabia, and according to another Washington Post article, gay men can be stoned to death there. Saudi Arabia's rule of law is Sharia Law, which when applied to women, constricts the rights of women to an extreme level. In the article, "Nine things women can't do in Saudi Arabia," The Week, talks about just a few, of the multiple things, women cannot do without being punished in some sort of way if they do it, these things include driving a car, or talking to other men that are outside of their immediate family.

One would think that Mrs. Clinton would refuse such donations from countries that are completely against what we as a country stand for, but apparently not. As we all know, the women and LGBT communities within the United States have fought so hard for their rights, and yet Mrs. Clinton takes aid from countries that continuously deny those same rights to women and the LGBT within their countries. If you ask me, Mrs. Clinton's "morals" are questionable, and if she supports the rights of women and the LGBT within our country, she would also support the efforts to help those women, LGBT, and others who are persecuted against in other countries.

When Mrs. Clinton uses this money for her presidential campaign, she not only indirectly supports the acts of those countries, but she is also breaking the law. The Federal Election Committee, or FEC, states that "Foreign nationals are prohibited from making any contributions or expenditures in connection with any election in the U.S." (You can further read into the the laws and regulations of the FEC, and the penalties associated with breaking by going to their website.)

Mrs. Clinton has not had any penalties out against her for breaking these laws. But, Mrs. Clinton seems to be above the law, as can also been seen from her email scandal. If you do not know about this, Mrs. Clinton used her private computer server while she was serving as Secretary of State. Her private server was not protected like the federal server(s) she was supposed to use, which put the security of the United States at risk. Extreme top secret information was sent and received from her private server, information that even the FBI had a hard time seeing because of how top secret it was. There was an investigation by the Justice Department, and by the FBI, but no charges were pressed against Mrs. Clinton.

CNN published an article on June 6, 2016, a day after FBI Director James Comey came out to and told the American population that he would not be suggesting that the Justice Department press charges against Mrs. Clinton. In his announcement, he stated that "[O]ur judgment is that no reasonable prosecutor would bring such a case. Prosecutors necessarily weigh a number of factors before bringing charges. There are obvious considerations, like the strength of the evidence, especially regarding intent. Responsible decisions also consider the context of a person’s actions, and how similar situations have been handled in the past." (You can read the full statement on the FBI's website.)

Well, Director Comey, I can maybe agree with you that Mrs. Clinton did not want to harm the American people, but her "extreme carelessness" as you put it, definitely needs further examination. While I painfully respect the investigation and the decisions of both the FBI, and the Justice Department, I am thrilled to know that the State Department is now looking into the actions of Mrs. Clinton. The most irritating part about this entire ordeal, is the fact that if anyone else were to do what Mrs. Clinton did, they would be most certainly be prosecuted for doing so. Mrs. Clinton played around with our nation security, whether she intended to do so or not, she did, and I certainly cannot trust someone like her to become the president of the United States.

What I don't understand, is that so many people complain about "The Establishment," and yet Hillary Clinton is the epitome of The Establishment; she has made a career in politics for over 30 years. She has manipulated the system in order for it to work to her benefit, and she has been "let off the hook" too many times to even count. She has shown that she is above the law. If people are so anti-establishment why do they stand behind her? People yearn for equality, and yet they are going to support someone who has proven that being above the law can and will be done? It astonishes me that people can even trust someone like her, someone who has lied, and cheated the American people.

Cheated the American people? How about we also add how she completely disregarded them. Yes, I am one of those people, the people who are still utterly bothered and heartbroken by the terrible events that occurred on September 11, 2012. At the American Diplomatic Compound in Benghazi, Libya, radical Islamist militants attacked, killing four Americans, taking them away from their families and friends. This terrorist set the American population into a frenzy, we all wanted to know how and why this happened ... And over and over again, Mrs. Clinton tried to completely sideline us, and those people who were attacked, and killed, in Benghazi. The Select Committee on Benghazi in the United States House of Representatives continues to investigate and develop new information involving the attack, and how Mrs. Clinton conducted herself as Secretary of State at the time.

The 2016 Presidential Election is going to be an extremely close election, and I will be one of the many millions of people who won't be voting for Hillary Clinton. I don't know who will win, but at the end of the day, we as a country cannot allow ourselves to further drift apart from each other. No matter what happens within the next few months, do not let anyone tell you who you should and shouldn't vote for; keep yourself informed, and vote for the person who you think will best fix the problems that affect you and the national issues that matter most to you. Don't ever feel ashamed for voting, because your vote is your voice and it matters.

So, I won't be voting for Hillary Clinton. I am NOT with her, and I proud to say so. I will stand firm to the morals and values I believe in, and I will proud vote for Donald Trump in this very historic 2016 Presidential Election. As a woman, should I apologize for not voting for her? Absolutely not. Now, I'm not saying that Donald Trump is perfect, but there is no way on this Earth that I could vote for someone as dishonest, untrustworthy, and hypocritical as Hillary Rodham Clinton.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
