Now, for the longest time I have tried to stay out of displaying my opinions on this year's presidential election, despite all of the terrible events that have happened in our country and around the world -- terrorist attacks, violence, shootings. Now, as we're nearing Election Day, I feel like I can't ignore my concerns any longer, but before going forward about all this, a lot of what I have to say might possibly offend some people from both political parties. That isn't my intention. I normally don't like getting into a heated discussion about politics, but there are too many things that I want to get off my chest.
At first, I thought that Trump announcing his campaign for president was a joke. I thought, There's no way this guy is serious. Now, November is just a few months away and I'm starting to become very concerned over the possibility that he might just win. I just don't understand why people want to vote for him!
Throughout his entire presidential campaign, he has been disrespectful and hateful toward women, citizens of different ethnicities and beliefs and immigrants. He's constantly talking bad about a recent tragic event or someone and every time he says something terrible and controversial, nobody does anything to stop his behavior. And despite all that he has said, Republicans are still sponsoring him, even though they have expressed dislike on what Trump has said.
Now, I do want to believe that there are good people that are registered as Republicans, but it's presidential candidates like Trump that keep putting them in a bad light. So if you want to convince people that they don't like Trump's behavior, DON"T SPONSOR HIM. He is sexist, racist, non-apologetic about what he says, two-faced and does not have our best interests in mind. He doesn't want to move our country forward -- he just wants to divide it and make us hate each other, and that is why he does not have my vote.
Now with all that I said about Trump, many of you guys might be thinking, Well if she's not going to be voting for him, then she's going to be voting for Clinton. Well, yes.
In the beginning of the presidential race, I did Feel the Bern, but now that he's endorsing Hillary Clinton, as much as I would like to have Bernie as our next president, I now have to vote for the lesser of two evils. Yes, I do know that some people say Hillary is corrupt, but right now there are bigger fish to fry. In order to keep America safe, we can't vote for Trump.
Yes, this is not the most ideal presidential race. This is going to be a lot of people's first time voting and this is, by far, the worst presidential race that we have ever seen. Right now is not the time to focus on how corrupt the voting process is. Right now, we have to focus on making sure that our next president shares the ideals of our country and presents the United States as the land of the free and home of the brave.
