Not All Doctors Are Bad And You Do Not Need To Let Them Get You Down

I get it, doctors don't seem to care anymore. Don't let it get you down.

For those fellow readers who suffer from any misdiagnosed or undiagnosed ailment, you will understand what I am talking about. Even those who struggle to pay medical costs when but figure out a way because they urgently need to be seen.

Doctors simply do not care. Sure it may seem like they do, however, you are basically just another penny going into their pocket or another name on their chart.

As we progress with technology, our doctors are not as hands-on as they were in the older days. The sense of family has been removed from the practice. I remember as a child my pediatrician would take the time to understand me and my hectic life. He would gather all my symptoms and diagnose me based on how I felt.

Nowadays, they just say the first thing to come to mind and send you on your way with another prescription, which in my case is pointless for there is a ninety percent chance of my body having a reaction to it, and yes my doctors know the probability. Nowadays, they just tell you to take it easy and do not help you progress in your daily activities.

I just do not have the tolerance for doctor's who will not try to work with you. I wish we were not just another name on their chart or another number in their book. I suffer way too much pain, most days I struggle to function, yet no one cares to look beneath the surface and figure out how to stop it. I physically cannot live the same life I did just a mere two years ago and I hate it. However, financially, I need my job. Even though it is hard and includes strenuous activity, I love what I do and wish I could do even more for my work family.

For those who also struggle with underlying circumstances, I will say, find a physicians assistant or nurse practitioner. I found one who is the most caring human I have met in the medical field. They will take the time to access your needs and find ways to help you cope. You will not just be another number in their chart.

So, remember, just keep pushing on. Doctors aren't always what they are cracked up to be and I honestly hate saying that. Don't let one or two get you down. Keep pushing to find someone who will show a caring attitude and give you the best treatment you can receive.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
