Looking back on my past relationships, I have learned that there are things that I want in the future. I know coming from this generation we do not really date, but when I do find someone that I will date there are certain things I want that person to know.
1. I don't play games.
I am not going to sit around and wait for you. You either are into me or you aren't. I do not have the time or patience to wait to see how you feel about me. I have learned from the past that I am more than that. I learned I deserve someone who wants to be with me.
2. I understand we both of busy schedules.
I understand that we both are busy with school, so I don't expect you to talk to me twenty-four seven. Between school, work, friends, and family I understand that we can't see each other a lot, but it does not mean that I don't care about you.
3. Friends and family come first.
I am not going to spend all my time with you. I do need to split my time with my friends and family too. I will always try to see you, but I am not going to ditch my family and friends for you. That also means if I had plans with you first, I am not going to make plans with my friends. I also, think it is good if we have time away from each other because I don't want to spend all of our time fighting over the little things.
4. I want my independence.
Just because we are dating does not mean that I want to depend on you all the time. I still want to be able to do things that I like by myself. Yes, it is nice to have help, but sometimes I like to try things on my own before asking for help. So, don't take it personal when I am doing things by myself because that is who I am.
5. I am going drive you crazy.
I am going to push you to your breaking point. Sometimes I am going to mean to do that and sometimes I won't. I am hard to handle because I like things a certain way and I get upset when certain things do not go the way I planned. I am going to make sudden decides about random things that you are going to question, but just go with it because I do not allows step outside my box.
6. You are going to have to get along with my family.
My family means so much to me, so it means a lot to me when you can get a long with them. If you get a long with them, they will help me make fun of all of the time. My family always has my back and they want the best for me. So you are going to need to approve to them, that you are worth it.
I am not expecting a lot out. I just want to make sure that this relationship is worth my time before I get hurt again.
