With the start of the new year, came the start of yet another Kardashian spin-off. This time, with a self-help show hosted by Khloe Kardashain. The show, titled Revenge Body with Khloe Kardashian aired on the E! network on January 12, 2017. The show follows people who are overweight and want to go through a body transformation, inspired by people in their lives who make them feel under valued
I'm a sucker for anything Kardashian. That’s not an ironic statement or expressed with sarcasm. I genuinely enjoy them. Especially the Kylie Lip Kits, thanks to my younger sister. Needless to say, I keep up with the Kardashians.

When I found out Khloe (who is my favorite in the family) was going to be having her own show, I was ecstatic. I could use this show as a way to distract myself from the ever-present responsibility of being a full-time student. I anxiously awaited the premiere episode.
However, after watching the show. I couldn’t ignore the sadness for participants that I felt while watching. That probably sounds strange. Why feel sorry for someone who is being given access to celebrity resources to make changes in their life that they’ve always wanted to?
Now don’t get me wrong, I am a fan of body transformations in order to make one feel better about themselves. Health and fitness are an important part of overall health. The sadness comes from the motivation for each of these people’s stories. Behind the reasoning, is people who have hurt each contestant. Their transformation is based on other people’s ill thoughts towards them. This overshadows their own desire to better themselves.
I understand that Khloe’s separate brand from her sisters is her new “revenge body”, so her having a show that focuses on that same idea is not a surprise. However, I think it would be more beneficial to focus on the pain behind people’s words, allow healing to happen, while transforming heart and body.
My hope for the contestants on this show, the audience and anyone who comes across this content is to that each individual would take care of themselves as a whole. Mind, body and soul. Focus on healing and not getting back at other people. At the end of the day, revenge isn’t sweet, it’s hurtful.
