Lately, I have been thinking about the world that we are currently living in and how innocent creatures suffer because of our selfish acts. By innocent creatures, I am referring to all the animals that make planet earth what it is today. I do understand that we are also animals and part of the food chain, but everything has its limits.

I believe we can learn to not overfish and overhunt. It is very easy for humanity to forget that the reason behind our existence is because of the sustainability planet earth gives us. Mother Nature is kind enough to share her land, help us evolve, and continue the food chain for nothing in return. Today, animals are being hunted not just for food and survival, but for recreational use. As a result, their populations are suffering the consequences. Here is a list of animals you probably didn’t know were added to the Endangered Species List.

1. Giraffes.

This really makes me upset, because my favorite animal, the giraffe, shouldn’t be on this list. Giraffes have been added to this list because of their numbers significantly dropping almost 30%. This is a result of poaching and habitat destruction. The most popular reason they are being poached for is their skin. They are wanted for their beautiful golden brown sink and also for their tails, which are a status symbol in some communities.

2. Albacore Tuna.

When it comes to fish, it is no surprise that we are definitely the reason for their near extinction. Since we are overfishing, it is no surprise that this subspecies of the tuna family is on this list. Most people who fish for recreational purposes usually toss the fish back into the water, but companies who have to make a profit take thousands of fish from the ocean.

3. The Arctic Fox.

This little creature whose environment is in the frozen tundra is on this list because of the fur trade industry. The main color of their fur is white, which makes it a highly-coveted item, and it is also very high quality. Climate change is occurring in the Arctic; the temperature is going down, which makes it very difficult for these animals to keep up their survival.

4. Beluga Whales.

These cute little creatures are very social animals, which is no surprise why it is very easy for people to get a hold of them. The little creatures are endangered because companies who are evolved in oil and gas development navigate through their environment. These companies tend to have many accident “Oil Spills” which can be very harmful to them.

5. Borneo Pygmy Elephants.

These animals are typically identified with the famous Disney character “Dumbo." There are about 1,500 of this species remaining, and their numbers keep declining. They are on this list because of habitat loss; these elephants require a huge land space in order to prosper like most animals.

6. Hawksbill Turtles.

These turtles are just like any other sea turtles. The main reason why they are endangered is that most people take their eggs from them, as well as ocean pollution . It's terrible, because these creatures contribute so much to the marine wildlife.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
