Still today, it is not uncommon for males and females to doubt women enjoy sports, and I can’t say I totally blame them. There is an unfortunate amount of women who probably led you to believe stereotypes of women who say they love sports. We all have had to listen to a girl, who tried to act really into the game but didn’t know the difference between offense and defense or thought Green Bay’s team is called the Mermen. Listen ladies, it's okay if sports aren’t your thing. You don't need to fake it. For the girls who do love sports like football, these questions can get really irritating.

1. Can you name the players without looking them up?

I can’t tell you how many times a guy has asked me if I could name five players. Yes. That’s the point of me being a fan. I know the players.

2. Who is the coach of the Philadelphia Eagles, and what was his son’s best friend’s name in high school?

Wait what? Obscure questions that have nothing to do with football always drive me insane. Sorry, I don’t know this person, and it is really weird that you do. I don’t think that knowledge will really make me any less of a real fan.

3. Do you understand the plays and rules?

Yes I know what a screen pass is. Yes, I understand the flag was thrown due to defense pass interference, because the cornerback never looked back towards the ball when breaking up the pass. Thank you.

4. Do you like pink jerseys?

Don’t get me wrong, I do love the breast cancer awareness month and having the players wear pink in the NFL. But those pink jerseys bedazzled are the worst. No, just no.

5. Do you only watch to see hot men?

Yes, Zach Ertz is easy on the eyes, but no I don’t watch because of him or any of the other players. I love the game because football is an amazing sport and presents great athleticism. It does not have to do with what the athletes look like.

6. Are trying to impress a guy?

I can promise you guys that we are paying way more attention to the game than to you. For a girl
who truly loves the game, she could not care less if you are even around to watch the game. We care about the score, not you, sorry.

7. Can we change the channel if nothing is happening?

Ha, no. Hell no. Most of your friends may not be interested but that shouldn’t stop you from screaming your heart out at the TV and watching every minute of the game. I don't care if there's only one quarter left or a few seconds. Don’t even think about touching the remote until that clock runs out.

8. Do you want me to explain what is going on?

You cannot watch the game without someone trying to explain every play and flag thrown. I promise I understand what is going on, a screen pass, or a safety. Yes, I can tell that they are about to do an onside kick and why. I really don’t need a play by play.

9. Are you going to be making/bringing food to watch the game?

Don’t even think about asking me to go into the kitchen to make you a sandwich in the middle of the game. Stay hungry, kid.

10. Do you like a team only because your dad/boyfriend does?

No, I am from the city of Philadelphia, and I will forever be an Eagles fan. A true fan will love the team she has since she was a little girl. Even if I did start liking a team because of my dad, it does not change my love for the game. Why do you love the team you do?

11. Do you watch the Super Bowl only for the halftime show?

Don’t get me wrong the commercials are great, but I care way more about the actual game then anything else. The halftime show is nice, but I have not missed a Sunday night football game all year.

12. Did someone help you draft your fantasy team?

I have enough knowledge to draft my team without any help. Even if I did get help, it does not affect my knowledge of the game or the players. I get my advice from Stephen A. Smith and other fantasy websites, because just like you I’m in it to win it.

To the other women who are constantly harassed with these questions and many more, I suggest you just keep doing you. If you are one of the people who ask these questions, you have been warned. Give a girl a chance to prove her knowledge and appreciate it. They might actually impress you, and you’ll have a good friend to watch the games with.
