Nerds, what losers. They have pocket protectors, wear ugly clothes, have seven cats, and only eat food their mom makes. Right?
Wrong, at least for Nerds in Denial. They're not nerds, really. They listened to classic rock before it was cool. They're metro and will charm the sh*t out of you, and you'll love every second of it. But forget about all that, because they're super talented.
If you're looking for a new band so you can say "I listened to them before they were popular," Nerds in Denial is the band, because they have the talent and passion, which is imperative to being on top of the charts. Nerds in Denial is a Rochester native band, with the flare and attitude that rivals any New York City band. The four-member band is indie and alternative rock, but I like to think they have a little bit of ska mixed in. Besides the rock side of their band, they're really diverse.
When they covered "We Got the Funk" they managed to add their flare, but still keep the urban funky vibe. Check it out.
You heard them, but now you saw it. They have fantastic stage presence and really know how to put on a show. I went to a concert of their's in spring 2015, and they brought the house down. They know when to play and interact with the crowd, but they don't take up too much time for their ego's sake.
My personal favorite song of their's is "Drug Money." I have loved it since I heard it. I'm lucky enough to have seen the music video for it before they have debuted it. And let me just say, it's perfect. The video captures the band's feel perfectly and has a perfect twist ending to it. The video adds to their already awesome song.
That song is up on their website, YouTube, and SoundCloud. You can also see their full info at ReverbNation. They have upcoming show dates, pictures of the band, and all their tracks.
I can't wait to hear more from them, and I know that you'll be hearing more from them too.
