After a long first year of college, summer vacation was just what I needed. No more work, no more finals to worry about, no more drama. I was going to finally be free of it all. I had my whole summer planned out; I was going to get a part time job and make a ton of money, hang out with all my friends, and maybe even have a summer fling. Of course, the total opposite happened. I got a part time job, but I only work two days a week and am not making all the money I thought I'd make. I haven't been able to see all my friends. Oh, that fling went down the drain -- twice.
Now that summer is almost over, I realized that I need to go back to college, and here's four big reasons why.
1. I get to be around my friends more.
During my freshmen year of college, I made a ton of friends. During the summer I saw not even a handful of them since everyone lives so far away. In college, I'll be able to see all my beloved friends again, every day instead of once in three months.
2. I'll be more productive.
Since I've only worked two days a week this summer, I'm not that productive. During the five days that I have off, I get lazy and practically do nothing. In college, I'll have classes and my job to go to every day, so I'll have a set schedule and something to do.
3. I'll have a social life.
During the summer, I felt like I had absolutely no friends. Also, there were no college nights spent making friends and making fuzzy memories. During the summer, I couldn't do any of that.
4. I'll have freedom!
During summer vacation, I live back at home with my parents, so I have to obey their rules since I am "under their roof." After my freshmen year of college, I was used to going out late with my friends without worrying what time I had to be home. Now, I have a curfew, and it's the worst.
Now that it's August, the countdown begins. Soon enough, summer will be over. My summer had its ups and downs but I'm happy that I got some time off to be with my family. But I am ready to go back to college and have a life!
