Are you on campus for the summer and looking for something to do? Well if you are, The Office of Student Engagement and Leadership (SEAL) and the NCCU Student Activities Board (SAB) has a lot planned for you to do. Starting on June 2, 2016, they will have ThrowDown Thursday's, where students can come hang out and bowl. Moving through the month of June, we land on the 7, where we take a trip to the islands as they host a Reggae Night. Two days later, on June 9, we're back in the bowling alley as they host another ThrowDown Thursday. On June 11, SEAL will take a day trip to the U.S Whitewater Center in Charlotte, NC. After taking a couple days off we come back June 14,15,16, as we kick-off the first official Orientation sessions for NCCU Class of 2020 and transfer students. Also on the 16th SAB will host a NBA finals watch party. Friday June 17th, there will be a trip to Frankie's Fun Park in Brier Creek, and then on June 22nd there will be a Summer Film Fest. On June 25th come out and enjoy the summer heat, as they host a pool party, and then right before Summer Session 1 ends, come enjoy some South American flavor, as they host Latin Night.
As we move into July, we prepare for Summer Session 2, by first celebrating Independence Day on the July 4th. Once summer session 2 begins, we start off the month with Eagle Mingle, where students are able to come fellowship, get some snacks, and relieve some stress, as we celebrate for the first day of classes. On July 6th, they take it global as they host an Asian Night. On Saturday, June 9, there will be a trip to Kings Dominion. July 13, SEAL and SAB will host Water Wars, which is day for students to come out and play with water balloons, water guns, and more! On the 14th, they will host the third ThrowDown Thursday for the summer. June 19th we celebrate the motherland, as they host African Night. July 21st, get ready lots of sweet treats, as they host a under the stars carnival. On the 23rd, we go exploring through the jungle as we take a trip to the North Carolina Zoo. July 27 we will host another summer film fest and then on the 28th we will end the summer with the last ThrowDown Thursday. In the month of August, there also will be a lot to do as we prepare for the 2016-2017 academic year, so prepare yourselves, because summer '16 at NCCU expect more than just class, work, or sleeping all day.
