As each year passes, a sequences of events will eventually take place, you’ll get that amazing internship you’ve always wanted, you’ll graduate from high school or college, you’ll get a new job, down the road you’ll get married, but most importantly you’ll be able to tell that there’s a substantial difference in the type of friendships maintained.

You once knew if your friends had a crush on a cute boy, what classes they were taking, and basically how their life was going up to this point. Granted everyone leads a very busy yet hectic life, but the way I see it, if you truly mean anything to someone, no matter how busy each others schedule may be, you’ll set aside a small amount of time to talk to them.

My circle of friends has never been quite big, the way I see it, the bigger the circle, the bigger the drama.

A lot of friendships end in bitter arguments, yet others end without a warning or reason. Although, everything happens for a reason because life just sort of happens, with age you sort of realize that it’s better to have a few great friends than a hundred fake ones that aren’t really worth your time and effort anymore.

To the friends I’ve lost along the way,

Thank you for a countless amount of memories, memories that gave you a bittersweet feeling inside while we were still living in them. Memories that by there very existence, I will cherish and reminisce on forever. Thank you for being apart of my life for how ever long you were in it because each person you come across in life has something meaningful to show you. Each and every person you meet plays a key role in your success story, some bring out the best in you, while others the worst. Yet each enter your life to remind you that everyone is worth it, everyone is worth a chance.

I wish you nothing but success in everything you decide to embark on and look forward to seeing what you’ve accomplished in life. I hope you get that dream job you’ve always wanted, and that you’ve met your soul mate, but most importantly I hope you’re truly happy with your life. I hope you regret as little as possible, and that everything you’ve always wanted is beginning to fall into place. I hope your life is both long and prosperous, and that all of your dreams come true. Though I hope you know, I’ll always be rooting for you from afar every step of the way no matter how the friendship ended.

Love always,

A Long Lost Friend

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
