Old Main Study Rooms
This has quickly become my favorite homework/study spot on campus, and I can't believe it's taken me almost a month into school to find it. It can be tricky to get an open study room, but if you can find one, grab it. You can close the door and adjust the light settings to your preference, and there's even a dry erase board to write notes or formulas. It's the perfect quiet spot to get some work done.
Wesley Foundation Library
If you don't go to Wesley's bible studies, you may not know where this is (and if you don't go, you definitely should!) but it's the building right before Campus Bookmart. They have a little room to the side of the main building with lots of couches and study spaces. There's great lighting and it's usually really quiet.
929 Coffeehouse Basement
This was the first study spot I found in Starkville, and it's still one of my faves. There's the main section upstairs, but downstairs there are booths and lots of smaller tables, and that's where I always go to study. They always have such good music to aid your studying, and the staff is really nice!
McCool Atrium
I have two classes in McCool M W F, so I will sometimes chill in the atrium between classes and get some homework done. There are a few floors of McCool, and each has tables and chairs in the wide atrium space between the hallways. It can be a little distracting if it's busy, but I like taking notes or doing math homework there, where I'm not trying to memorize information and can allow a little noise.
Mitchell-Memorial Library
If you're looking for somewhere extremely quiet- top floor of the library is the place to go. It's literally dead silent; I was actually scared to even take my water bottle out because I didn't want to disturb the peace. The library is also open super late, so it's perfect for late night cram sessions.
For me, a good study space includes comfy seating, few distractions, and lots of space. I'm still on the hunt for more study spots, but these are my fave so far!
