My Time.....Be Patient

My Purpose

Patience is one of the hardest things we as people have to deal with. Instead of waiting and enjoying what is happening in our life at this moment we always want to rush the next phase without even being ready for it. I constantly hear people including myself often saying things like I can't wait until I'm rich, I can't wait until I'm married with a family, or I can't wait until i find a new job with more money; without even knowing if I have a plan on what to do when that time comes. What good is it if you become rich and not even have a plan on what to do with the money then lose it all just to end up right back where you were? What good is it to get married to someone you think you love just to find out she or he isn't truly your soul mate?

Over the years I have constantly prayed for patience and asked God to allow me to trust in his timing. For I know when he feels I am ready for greater things, then he will bless me with them. When I finished school, I was looking for a job, but I kept getting rejection letters no matter what I would do. This made me question God a lot and constantly ask him what was I doing wrong not knowing that he was only testing my patience. I remember my aunt and my mom telling me just to be patient and trust God, for when he is ready for you to have that job it will come. I took their advice and low and behold he blessed me with a great opportunity which even allowed me to move to Houston. I understand patience is hard to have, but I've learned when you stop worrying and looking for things to happen, that's when they will start to happen.

I challenge you as reader to enjoy the phase you are currently in in your life right now, but continue to never settle. Use it as a time where you can explore who you are as a person. Use it to make a plan for when that next phase in your life do come you will be more prepared for it and ready to make the most it. Worry less, but always expect more and believe that YOUR TIME IS COMING!!

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
