In a daily basis I interact with over 250 people, with every person I meet I learn something new. I learn every day that there are many different people out there, with unique personalities and most important, unique stories. Each stories has something, a key factor that makes it worthwhile to hear and understand. After hearing those stories I began to understand more and more about people. I understood why certain things happened, and I also understood why certain people are so upset.
After understanding this I saw something, I saw the reality of everything that was happening… I saw that people who were is despair are the people who have been hurt the most. The people who have promised a lot but only given so much. The people who grew up with nothing and once they got somewhere their life they hit rock bottom again.
These stories are what make people unique and with my job and knowing a lot about people. I have heard them all, but the thing is these helped me learn more about myself. A person’s story isn’t what defines them it composes their past but then they learn that there past doesn’t define their future.
With every story I have heard, I have seen the worst and best in people. I have also been the last person a few people who have seen before they passed away. With this being said I have also been the person who people have shared their deepest secrets and I have heard many people share their stories.
With each story I have heard I have kept a promise to myself, that I will remember them and live by the advice many people have told me. With that being said I promised myself on a regular basis that I will be better and live every day to the fullest in order to fulfill what I believe is the best thing ever. The ability to hear and learn more about people. Then applying everything you have heard into your life.
I know this does sound somewhat horrible, where I have heard stories before people have died and during someone’s most intimate moments with their loved ones around. I have been told though over and over again that I should never let life bring me down. I should always try over and over again to make the difference. I have continued to do that everyday and I can only thank the people who made me promise that I will be better and I will continue to help the people who need help.
A promise is one that has to always be kept and that why I keep this one promise and so far this the only promise I have made.
