How I made friends with a professional baseball player.

Things can change so suddenly, everything in the world can be going against you and suddenly you have someone who changes it all. This person could be a lover, or a friend, or in my case a professional baseball player.

For privacy reasons, I will not be mentioning the name of the baseball player, but he is a member of the Philadelphia Phillies organization. Following some of my favorite players from the team, I got a follow back from my absolute favorite. I got a couple of likes on some of my pictures and I was so excited but thought nothing more would come of it.

Much to my surprise, I got a notification that I had a new message, from my favorite player!!! Thinking it was too good to be true, I opened the message anyway and replied, but just assumed it was someone paid to keep the fans happy. We kept up the conversation and eventually I realized that it was possible I was actually talking to my inspiration, the very person that inspires my in my own endeavors in softball.

The player and I engaged in conversation that eventually led to him offering me to come to a game! I don't remember a time that I was more excited. Worried that it was a hoax, I asked questions over and over but could find no holes in the information he was giving me. I was told two tickets were left for me, all I had to do was go pick them up the day of the game.

Slightly nervous but still hopeful, I explained to the friend I intended on taking to the game the situation. We decided to go and if the tickets ended up not being there, we would just buy our own. We got to the tickets windows and sure enough, two tickets were sitting there in my name. You cannot imagine the excitement I felt that day.

The seats were amazing, it was a beautiful day, and I had gotten the tickets from a real life professional baseball player. A professional baseball player that asked for nothing in return, was just kind enough to give one of his fans tickets to watch the game. I will never understand why I was chosen in that specific situation, but thanks to this player, I have faith that there are good people in the world and I look up to his that much more.

Sometimes the stars align and things go right. It's just a matter of time.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
