Starting college and living with someone else that you don't even know can be hard. Especially if you've never had to share a bedroom with anyone else before. However, sometimes having a roommate isn't as bad as it seems! It can actually be a lot more fun than you think!
1. First and foremost, thank you for being my very first friend.
At least I had you to go to the cafeteria with every day and to walk to class with every day. Not having to be alone and awkward has been nice. Thanks for always being there for me.
2. Thanks for putting up with my constant mood swings.
Goodness knows I can be super emotional. Whether it's me crying because of a class I just left, me being super hyped up on sugar, me being extremely talkative and just annoying, or for simply being on my period, you always knew how to handle me.
3. Sorry for always leaving the lights on in the morning when you were still asleep or for being loud when I would come in late at night.
I didn't realize leaving the sink light on bothered you, so thanks for all the texts and/or sticky notes you may have left me along the way. I've been really good about remembering to turn the light off now. Sorry for being loud when I could come in late at night too. No matter how quiet I would try to be, I still somehow would manage to wake you up.
4. I sincerely apologize for all the hair I accidentally lost in our carpet.
I don't even like how much hair I loose on the daily. It makes me want to throw up just as much as you do. At least I was really good about always wanting to vacuum the carpet.
5. Sorry for taking obnoxiously long showers and for loudly singing even though everyone knows I can't.
Sorry not sorry though. You introduced me to the waterproof shower speaker. You should have known I was going to make the most of it. I'm surprised you haven't taken videos of me yet or banged on the door to hurry up and shut up.
6. Thanks a ton for our random dance parties even if they were at 3 in the morning.
Even though the people below us probably hated us, we still had so much fun together. That was our exercise, because we both know working out takes too much effort. And even if we had homework or a test due early that morning, this was a great way of procrastinating.
7. Thanks for always being up to get food with me!
I think this is what half of our friendship consisted of. Our never ending refrigerator and drawers of food. I appreciate you always being up for Waffle House or Taco Bell or for splurging on some kind of junk food with me.
8. Thanks for being the same size and sharing clothes with me!
Since we both don't have sisters and we're both the same size, sharing clothes has been fun with you! It's always funny seeing each other around campus dressed up all cute in the other person's clothes.
9. Thank you for actually being open with me and not agreeing with everything I said just because it was what I wanted to hear.
I'm such an accident prone person that something wrong happens to me daily. Thanks for giving me good advice and not just agreeing with everything I said, because it was what I wanted to hear. I appreciated hearing your insight on things too.
10. Thanks for getting along with me! Not fighting with you has been fun.
They say opposites attract, but that's not always true. We were pretty much the same person and we got along just great. It was cool being one of few roommates in our dorm who actually stayed together this year.
- Now we're starting our sophomore year together in a couple months and we've agreed to suite together. We may not be roommates again, but that's okay because we'll literally be across the wall from each other. We'll still get to share the same space. I can't wait to see what this next year will hold, but like always I'm sure it won't be anything too crazy that we both can't handle. Thanks for being my best friend!
